I made the switch to strongman this year after a few years of bbing training never competed but trained like 1 lol and will never go back strongman is way more fun and like tom said bbers are all up themselves thinking they know everything and never wanting to learn from others or give proper advice

Tom good luck on sat I was gunna compete but have a stag do I must attend haha you should go well just you will find that unless you do the event training its a bit hard to get technique right first off especially on the tyre flips and stones im hoping to be at the nzsm in nov but we will see need to get some more equipment

Everyone knows you both anyway..... neither of you can hide...... MZ's the only student flipping cars by himself & taking 3 spaces up at the bar when drinking cheap piss on student nights. :grin:

And that arm of yours in world famous in BOP! You'd have to travel to Whakatane to see another gun that size TT! :nod:

It was going to cost me a fair bit to post so i said to him he could either chip in with the postage or film himself knocking back 5 shots of whisky in 10 seconds and post it up. For a couple hundred dollars worth of protein he was getting a sweet deal. He declined so I told him to get lost

had the aucklands strongest man comp yesterday, couldnt have asked for a better day was mint weather in the big aucks!

Met Nate, Viking power, startingfromscratch, Bigmac and Tinytraps... all top guys who all gave me good advice/tips and support. thanks guys!

the comp was really well run, with no fucking about and simple/clear instructions. went on for about 6 hours so luckily i took lotsa food and drink. 6 hours and didnt get bored once so goes to show how much i enjoyed.

Only negative i can think of was the lack of guys from on here who claim they can lift this and inject that.. not showing up... :lol: PLAYN UP... lol but seriously if you think you are strong and want a test these comps are the ones for you, just leave the ego in the car lol cause someone who doesnt even look like they lifted a weight before will outlift you by a mile lol

so the events and and my results

max log lift: 105kg

did this for my 5th attempt shoulda planned it better as coulda done a 110kg or maybe a lil more. 120kg will be goal for next time

max deadlift: 220kg

this was my 3rd attempt, failed on the forth at 250kg pretty much had it in the bag then my right hand started to give way lol still had 40 seconds but couldnt get 250 back off the floor, maybe if i had a belt on i woulda got it but thats hindsight for ya. i will start using a belt in some of my trainings from now.

incline log press 120kg for reps: 8 reps

was pretty happy with this, think i got 3rd in overall for this one, big sam got 16 reps and dale 12 or 13

herc hold 117kg each hand for time: 21-22 seconds

looks easy.. FUCKEN HARD!

apollo bar press for reps: 0

couldnt do it, no technique. haydens technique was awesome on this one!

300kg tyre flip x6: 40-45 seconds (cant remember exactly)

was happy to just get the 6 flips in under 60 seconds

5 stones onto barrels: 3 stones completed

got the first 3 on pretty easily, got to the forth and my body was fucked attempted it twice but wasnt happening.

am planning on doing some training with Justin from AUT each week so i can do another and actually have some idea on technique and form.

bring on the next one! LETS GOOOOO!
