ok, so this morning i attempted back workout. after being sick the last however many days i felt good this morning and was ready to give 100% to my training as usual. started off with deadlifts but after 7 sets (was aiming for 8 ) my lower back was sticking out further than my arse fucken pumped to the max and i could hardly even walk. went to the lat pull down and was so painful, next time i will save the deadlifts till last in my back workout even tho i wont be to go 100% at them at least if i pump the lower back hard on them then i can just crawl out of gym and not have missed out on any sets.

deadlifts:

60kg x 12 x1 set

100kg x 12 x2 set

140kg x 10 x3 set

180kg x 6 x1 set (couldnt take it anymore lol)

lat pulldown:

just fucked around on this as couldnt really do any, was raging with fustration to tell the truth that i couldnt carry on, wanted to turn the enitre gym over.

so has anyone else exp this with deads and i expect i will get it with squats on monday too.

so do u guys finish off with these instead of start with them? or would a weight belt, cranked tight as fix this?

i know some ppl will say harden up, but its abit more than that unfortunatly i.e when you go on the lat pulldown and it feels like its working your lower back not yr lats there is an issue lol

hay bro I had the same thing but mind ended being a nerve injury I was fucked couldnt touch my toes for a week and now I cant squat or dead over 100kg without a belt

best to get a belt bro safety first you wanna be able to go 100% every time you train so do whatever to stay injury free who cares what people say belts make you look hardcore haha

yea iv had that. tend to only get it when on pinks. deads and squats. iv found that if you stick to low reps and just go heavier its no where near as bad or just do as you said and leave them till last.

i use a weight belt for heavier sets anyway but still dosnt stop the pump . a bit of deep heat on lower back prior to starting helps a bit though.

I turn phone off when I sleep so I don't get woken up. No excuses.

Pete - yeah bodyfat has gone up a little bit not much though. Getting alot stronger which for me is indication I'm getting bigger and shits working

BF comes with the territory though as you know and shows your eating enough, keep it going

ok, so today was arms. had to train first thing in morning as had to go to church etc today lol... church = showies..

anyway, i used to prefer not to train in the mornings as feel i dont have the same energy as later in the day having eaten 5 meals. however this time i am trying a diff way so am doing as many of my sessions in the morning as i can and that way training then eating all day i am replenishing the muscle and feeding it all day rather than training then having a shake then a meal then fasting for 7 or 8 hours. so am trying this way to see if any diff as far as growth goes.

close grip bench:

60kg x 20 x 1 set

100kg x 12 x 2 set

100kg x 10 x 1 set

str8 olympic bar curl (bar counts as 20kg):

20kg x 20 x 1 set

40kg x 10 x 3 set

skull crushes with EZ bar (bar counts as 10kg):

30kg x 20 x 1 set

40kg x 15 x 2 set

50kg x 10 x 1 set

alternate standing db curls:

15kg x 15 x 2 sets

17.5kg x 12 x 2 set

tricep push down

think about 70kg x 15 reps x 3 sets

needed something to eat so went home.

ok thanks for your guiys replyies re. the lower back pumps.

just after some more opinions, from u guys who train arms in the fashion above like i just did.

ok, do u guys find you arms get too pumped from alternating bis and tris, resulting in not being able to get the good contraction on the exercise compared to if yopu were just doing tris or just doing bis.

i may flag the arm workout day and add the tri and bi in with two other parts maybe delts and chest or back. i just like to do an arms day as it gives the rest of my body a day off without having a day off from the gym
