Still feeling like crap, so I won't be going to the gym today :( Will instead keep pumping myself with VitC and other misc druggage.

Day off tomorrow, so will go to gym then and aim for one excercise per muscle group so that at least I'll get some training in this week, even if minimal. That's the ideal. I'm sure I'll feel well enough to at least do that.

Awwww chick..I hope you get better real soon.

Thanks guys. I think I'm lucky I've got it when I have - worst of it should be over by the time we leave on Wednesday, and certainly by Saturday when we have our first boarding day. I just hope like hell hubby doesn't get it - since I don't drive, we'll be a big buggered on a road trip if he gets sick and can't drive!

Got to the gym today. Since I'm not sure when I'll next go to the gym (hopefully Friday, but things have a habit of changing when you're on holiday) I decided to work all my muscles. So did one exercise for each muscle to start with, then still had enough time and energy so did a second excercise for each. Went slightly easier than usual because still feeling a bit coldy, but wanted to make sure that each muscle had had some attention this week, even if only a little.

Weighed myself this morning and I'd gone under the 59kg mark, which is what I'm hoping will be my lower weight limit - so I'm enjoying a birthday cupcake and glass of wine to put that extra bit of weight back on

Probably won't be posting much in the next couple of weeks, so see you all again in early September - hopefully not too much the worse for having a break!

Enjoying a very nice Central Otago Pinot Noir this evening. I've had 2 glasses of this lovely Saddleback and I'm feeling a wee bit hammered after almost 2 months off

Have fun snowboarding! If you spot a chick with a white helmet, crashing and making a fool of herself in the park (Prob Remarkables or Cardies) - that's me!

And if you spot a chick with a lilac jacket, silver helmet and obscenely loud pink boot laces flailing about and looking pleased with herself for making it to the bottom in one piece - that'll be me! Not sure what day we'll be on what mountains, but we're arriving on the Thurs night in Q'town, I'll probably take the Friday off (after 6 days of boarding Hutt, Ohau and Dobson beforehand), and we'll be doing Remarks and Coronet Peak on the Sat and Sun before heading to Wanaka to do TC and Cardrona.

Have an awesome time!

Hello from sunny Christchurch! My sister just took me to QEII for a gym session. Just had an hour, so I decided to do an all over workout - squats, lunges, DB chest press, EZ bar bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, one armed DB lifts, shoulder press and upright rows. I think that's it. So I've worked almost everything a couple of times this week, so that should keep me happy til next Friday which is my next gym opportunity.

Food is hard to do well while away! Visiting family is the hardest bit - mum trying to fatten me up ('You're not fading away are you? You look like you're fading away' as she shoves ginger crunch at me  She's obese BTW, so not really a great role model).

I'm doing my best to eat properly though, and to avoid too much silliness if at all possible. Got served a giant pile of spaghetti with meatballs last night and left most of the spag behind as it really was mountainous! Sticking to a limit of 2 glasses of wine per night as well - enough to join in, but not enough to entirely ruin all my work.

Weight dropped again yesterday 58.5, so trying to stay up at 59 but not by eating too much crap! Snowboarding tomorrow - yay!

Why are mums alwyas like that?! I am sure if I rolled in the door as opposed to walk my mum would still think I needed to eat more

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone - I'm baaaaaaack!

Had a lovely 2 and a half weeks away - managed to get in 10 and a half days of snowboarding, but unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest so I didn't get the 12+ days that I'd hoped for. My hubby managed to get 13 days in, but I wasn't able to keep up with him for a couple of reasons - one because I pretty much suck at snowboarding and when conditions are rubbish, I don't waste my money! And the other reason is that because the weather was quite bad on a couple of days, the cold I'd got the week before our holiday started ended up coming back (thanks to getting drenched through on a couple of days) - so unfortunately I spent only about 5 days actually feeling 100% well, and the rest of the time things were a real effort - big time grrrr I can tell you! But I did my best and had a great time regardless.

Managed a total of 2 gym visits while away - the one I mentioned previously, and another in Queenstown when we arrived last Thursday. Hubby went boarding but it was raining and grim and I thought bugger it, I'd rather pump some iron!

Lots of bad eating while away, but also lots of good eating, all things considered. Had my oats for brekkie every day, and also had lots of tuna wraps during the day on the mountain, as well as peanut butter wraps, and the odd protein bar when it was more convenient. I didn't touch the mountain food at all, so all my daytime meals were fairly normal and my protein levels were similar to normal. Always had access to the car during the day up the mountains, so could easily make a protein shake or tuna wrap without any problem, so no excuses for bad eating.

Did have a couple of Fergbergers in Queenstown, as well as a Thai chicken curry pizza at Winnies - yum!! But all in all I'm pleased with how the eating went - weight is the same as when I left. Bodyfat is slightly up, but only marginally really. Just above 28% on the Tanita scales, whereas it was just below 28% before I left, so I don't think I've done any long term damage. Had a fair few vinos along the way too, but not every night.

Can't wait to get back to the gym tomorrow! Especially after a day of sitting in the car travelling back today.

Thanks! I'm definitely addicted to this site - but now that I've got used to not being online all the time I'm going to try and stay away during work hours - I know I was spending far too long before my holiday online at work, and it's only a matter of time before I get in trouble over it - so now is a good time to make it evenings only.

Good to see you back chick. I also now have limited access now that work have blocked the site!

How ass was the weather down south?! Good time though :) Hope you had fun!

Oh yeah, it was total poo. We started with a great weekend at Hutt then a great day at Dobson, then the weather turned to crap from the Tuesday on - we went to Ohau on the Tuesday and it rained almost the whole day (snow was glorious and fluffy though), and we got soaked through to our undies  - then Ohau was closed for the next 2 days  so headed to Queenstown early on Thursday, rain - blah!

Lots of wet and windy weather, so we ended up boarding Fri and Sat before coming home since the conditions were so much better, rather than visiting my family again in Chch - can see them at Xmas!

Hmmm, just realised that it's going to be difficult to keep my journal good and up to date if I'm not doing it at work - which is where my gym bag and notebook live. I have a terrible memory, but will see how I go with remembering what I did today.

Chest and triceps

Dumbell presses - 10kg 1x12 warmup, 12kg 3x12

Flyes - 9kg 4x12

Tricep kickbacks - 6kg 4x12

Seated tricep dips - 70kg 4 sets, I think it was 12/8/8/8

Arm extension machine - 20kg 4x8 I think.

Also did 18 mins of light cardio (bike) at the end. I'm going to make a better effort to include more cardio from now on.

Food:

1. Oats, yogurt and PP

2. PS, several apples during the morning too

3. PS

4. Tuna and chickpea wrap

5. 2 x ryvitas with PB

6. Moroccan lamb and veges (root veges) and a wee bit of couscous.

7. TBC - maybe yogurt and PP since I didn't have it this morning and forgot to buy cottage cheese.

Felt great going back to the gym today, but found things a wee bit harder than usual. Ah well - will get back up to full strength ad start raising the weights soon enough.

Yeah, I had more cheat meals than planned too. One was because Winnies accidently made a medium super yummy Thai chicken curry pizza for me instead of the small one that I ordered - but said that I could have the medium for the price of a small since that's what I ordered, and could take the rest home. So had it 2 nights instead of just once! It was far too good to chuck out or give to my hubby
