Nice work CC - that's a LOT of walking in a day, every bit's going to count! As for the workout, the quads obviously took a hammering ! :notworthy:

Yeah, weather permitting I walk to and from the station every day, then a wee bit further to and from work and to and from the gym. The to and from station/work bit adds up to 25 mins each way. I've done similar to/from walks to work/uni ever since I left school a REALLY long time ago, so it's just a normal part of life for me that I make time for. My husband, on the other hand, grabs the bus from the bottom of our street which virtually takes him to the door of work. I just can't bring myself to do that (and not just because I'm a tight arse and the bus costs twice as much as the train!!).

I haven't been counting the 10 mins each way to and from the gym, so that's another 20 mins x 5 days as well.

I have a confession to make: I just ate about 3 helpings of sludge in one go  I'd made a batch to do me as a before bed snack for the next few days, to save time doing it each night. Bad idea as it turns out - I'm too much of a pig and it's just too damn good

I think I'll steer clear of anything with PB in it for a few days, I think I've had my share for now :naughty:

That was the older guy, right ? he's been doing that for a while, I really think he hasn't/ can't afford gym gear. I would NOT like to share a bus/train with him tho, haven't seen him wash after a workout.

Yeah, that's him. I was feeling sorry for his poor colleagues who have to sit next to his staleness all day - those aren't the kind of trousers people tend to wash all that regularly :puke:

I did wonder about being able to afford gear - but surely a pair of shorts from the Warehouse and some shoes from Number 1 isn't a great deal of money - you can get super cheap stuff that will function adequately there, probably for not much more than a weekly membership. And everyone has old t-shirts.

DOMS hadn't fully set in from last evening's leg and butt workout, so decided to sneak in a spin class before I lost my legs to the pain. Could feel my glutes quite a bit, especially when doing the standing cycling stuff. Now will spend the rest of the afternoon sitting down!

Enjoying doing spin again, after not doing it for a while, and hating it when I did do it. would like to do another class this week - maybe thursday PM as Ashley is doing the 5.30 class that day.

I WILL burn that fat off!!

Today's workout brought to you by Oxygen magazine. Did back and biceps, and used stuff I found in Oxygen - for back there is a 2 week split of 6 excercises, so did week 1, and for biceps did the 21s workout.

Pull assist: 30kg 12/12/10/8

Lat pulldowns: 35kg 4x8

Cable rows: 35kg 4x8

Narrow grip cable bicep curl: 15kg 3x12

Wide grip BB curl (EZbar): 5kg 2x 21s - oooh this was hard, even with a lighter weight than I normally do (7.5kg)

Concentration curls 6kg 10/8/8

Oh, and one more thing I wanted to share: there was a guy at the gym tonight working out in his office clothes - shirt, trousers that were like suit trousers, and leather shoes  WTF??

OMG seriously? Wow.

BTW, snow on the horizon for the mountain chick so either this or next weekend will be decent. I'm thinking of doing a midweeker next week.

I hope so - we're driving up Sunday morning and hoping for Sunday and Monday boarding. Silly us didn't realise when we decided to go that clocks go forward on Saturday night/Sunday morning - we have a party on Saturday night, then up for boarding Sunday with even less sleep than normal!! Good thing I'm not drinking (though of course as a non-driver, it's irrelevant - it's hubby that has to be a-ok for driving on Sunday morning!!).

Eek 21's! They is GOOD at battering your arms!!! I run and hide whenever their name is mentioned!!

Yeah, nearly killed me! But I needed a kick up the arse with biceps - I always work as hard as I can with them, but they never seem to hurt the next day, so I don't feel like I'm making any headway. I can feel them this morning though!

There's a guy at my gym in a suit on the treadmill and carries a chanel bag with stuff in it and sprays lemon scented stuff everywhere!

 Sounds like that guy Andre from American Vogue in The September Issue, going to play tennis with all his Louis Vuitton gear - OMG funniest man ever

That's just so rude and ignorant. I'm not a fan of phones in the gym. I know sometimes you need to have your phone, but most of the time they should be left in the locker. The odd time I need to have my phone with me, it's just a pain - I'm already carrying round my towel, water bottle and notebook, and that one extra thing is just a pain!

Had to smile on Tuesday, a woman comes in, walks up the stairs gassing away on her cellphone, sits on the bike still talking away, works-out for at least 10 minutes (charitably, this was maybe her warm-up) while talking, moves to seated leg extension machine still TALKING... if talking were an Olympic event, she'd be the gold medallist!

Yep, we can end up with a fair amount of junk to haul around - lifting straps, bottle, towel, journal... I'm just waiting for the one-piece phone/mp3 earpiece to come out, like so many cheesy sci-fi movies!

Shoulders today, and a couple of extra glutes excercises since summer is on its way.

DB shoulder press: 9kg 12/12/8/8

Lat raises: 5.7kg 4x8

DB front raises: 4.5kg 1x8; 4kg 3x8

DB upright rows: 10kg 5x5 (struggling a bit with these, considering dropping to 9kg and doing 4x12 for a while)

Split squats with 10kg DBs 4x8

Sumo squats: 25kg 4x12

Going to do a spin class after work tonight too.

Going hard today and tomorrow, as will probably have Sat, Sun and Mon off, as hoping to be up the mountain.

Day off work today, so good long workout ahead of a 3 day break (which will hopefully include 2 days of snowboarding on Sun and Mon).

DB Chest press: 10kg 1x8; 12kg 4x12

Flyes: 10kg 3x12 (concerned with form on these, so going to drop back to 9kg next time and work on it)

Press ups: 15/10/10

Skullcrushers: 10kg 2x12, 12.5kg 1x8

Tricep bench press: 10kg 3x12, 12.5kg 1x12

Tricep kickbacks: 7kg 5x5

Seated dips: 70kg 10/10/8/8

Then did 18 mins on the bike, followed by some abs. Bit crap on the abs today, only managed a 30 second plank, so decided it was time to come back home and make some nice cupcakes to take to my friend's house tonight. Can't eat them myself, but enjoy making them, so cool to take when going to someone's for dinner.

Ooh, that reminds me, I haven't noted in my journal my athlete mode victory

It's in 2 other threads already (can't stop talking about it!), but I should put it in my journal too - switched my Tanita scales to athlete mode, and now longer have a hefty cow bf reading of 27-28, but a new slimline reading of 22.6%

And yeah yeah, I know it's just a number and consistency is key etc etc. But I like this new number a hell of a lot more than the old number. Yay for athlete mode! Might just treat myself to one of my cupcakes as a victory meal (but will see what my friend serves up for dinner first!!).

*edit* oops - changed 18 to 28 - noticed in Vee's quote below that I'd put the wrong number - I wouldn't call 18% bf in the 'hefty cow' range
