My training partner yesterday on my 3rd set of squats with 4 plates and aiming for another 15 reps...

"Have fun with the weight!" WTF??? It's not a party lol or at least not one I want to go to again!

But you seem to go back and do the same thing every week... so it is sort of like a party. :P

a sadomasochistic one maybe... lol

this came from our resident "light bulb"...chest and arms 3x a week and not a squat in sight.

one of the young guys comes up and says to me..

"that dude is fucked up..hes big from the elbows up"

A girl at my old work who was trying to lose weight said to me one day when my protein order arrived at work

"that stuff is so bad for you, it has heaps of chemicals and stuff in it, you should just eat food" (please note she smokes and drinks every weekend and drinks shitloads of sprite zero everyday from vending machine) then proceeds to tell me that also when I stop taking it when I am older all my muscle will turn to fat"

Was dieting for comp at the time... took all my energy not to drop her fat ass....

Luckily I don't hear too much bullshit in our gym as it is mainly professional & semi-professional rugby players (btw 13 of the Magpies squad got Super15 Contracts!!! :clap: ) & Academy of Sport atheletes there.

We have a good crew that trains after 5pm, some development guys & wider squad members, plus a couple of strays including Stevie Mega, Peachy & myself.

We get some brilliant stories about what the rugby boys get up to in the weekends...confirms my belief that rugby players + alcohol = chaos!

The other day I was training and one of the guys piped up about Georgie Pie and how good it was. Another one said "Yeah I used to get those seafood pies every saturday I went out but didn't score a chick". I quickly chipped in "thats a lot of fucken pies bro, 52 a year by my count"! :grin:

His response topped my one liner tho, "Yeah I know bro, but at least you could go home smelling like you'd scored & you could tell stories to the flatmates"!! :pfft: :pfft: :grin:

Every day we get a new comical story. Definately beats listening to guys talking about their mystery cousin who can bench 200, or how they used to be huge, or if so & so competed no one would beat him! :grin:

Sorry, bit late to the party guys havent been on and this thread has gotten long haha.

He wasnt using when he was 16, he used to carry a lot of fat back at school and was really strong, people who didnt know anything about the gym thought he was just all fat and was going nowhere in bodybuilding, but he made the sacrifices early on for the huge benefits now, talking to him he is massive but said he was stronger when he was fat :lol:

He is guna end up as a big unit one day, you guys shouldnt have scared him off, he's a gc :nod:

Might be able to convince him to come down to Eastside sometime, he'd probly fit right in but still stand out like a sore thumb, he takes up too much god dam room :pfft:

Thought about it ha ha ha ha but figured he'd been slammed enough. It did amuse me for a long while that one.

Client: I was told that that's pretty bad - I want to gain some muscle, doesn't that burn muscle too?

PT: Nah, you'll be sweet. Have you ever seen a marathon runner with no muscles?
