farmers walk.

carry two big weight dumbbell and walk up a stair.

pull ups. how many pull ups in a min.

True measure should be a range of lifts like army fitness test but for strength.

I think pullups are almost the worst exercise to compare two peoples strength. Are you gonna say a 50KG guy who can do 10 is stronger than a 100KG guy who can do 5?

I would. Strength to bodyweight ratio.

It's not as simple as that. When I was weighing in the mid 70s I could often get 20 or more reps on chin ups. Now in the mid 90s I don't often get past 13-14. But, even on a strength to bodyweight ratio, every other major lift has increased. I've gotten much stronger, but by your thinking I was stronger when I was weighing in the mid 70s. That 50kg guy may only be able to Deadlift 50kg, but the 100kg guy may be able to deadlift 200kg. Who's stronger now?

Bodyweight exercises are a poor measure of strength while your bodyweight is also changing. Different exercises use a different percentage of your bodyweight as the resistance depending upon limb lengths and body positioning etc. Free weight exercises will always use 100% of the weight as the resistance.

This thread isnt about power to weight though is it? Its purely about strength. A guy who can deadlift/squat/bench more than someone else is stronger regardless of how much more they weigh. To make the pullup example a fair test you would have to strap 50KG on him and then see who can do more.

Didn't mention power brah. Not trying to cause any arguments either.

I'm just saying, they can pull their own bodyweight more times. However, you are right at the same time. A more fair example would be of people who weigh the same.

I already know that if someone can bench more, they're obviously stronger.

But let's be honest, whenever a shorter guy weighs less and lifts more than a taller heavier guy, they just say it's short levers. So either way, people are just going to make excuses for why someone is stronger than them.
