Sheiko #29 Test Day as follows:

Squat

Opener 85kg - Sweet

2nd: 90kg - Fail

3rd: 90kg - Another fail we think depth not quite there

Bench

Opener: 45kg - Sweet

2nd: 47.5 - Fail

3rd: 47.5 - Fail. Absolutely no leg drive Grrrrr that number is my nemisis man

Deadlift

Opener 102.5kg

2nd: 105kg

3rd: 110kg PB \:D/ \:D/ am super stoked with this WOOHOO!!

So all in all. Squat and Bench stayed the same and had a 7.5kg gain in my Dead.

Im disappointed in my squat depth but am not too gutted as I still managed the squat at 90 (something i wouldn't have even be able to achieve a few weeks ago)

Bench - I majorly need to focus on that leg drive. I will get that number eventually!

Deads - Rapt with

Am still celebrating with a few coldies tonight tho yup yup :pfft:

John gonna post up vid later

Great work MG - nice gains in what were already wicked deadlifts :notworthy:

So what if you didn't quite nail the squats or bench, it's what you do about it now that'll make the difference. You'll be able to focus the training in those areas, adapt and improve :)

Thanks ALL for your comments. Awesome :D

I meant to mention too that I used wraps for my squats too which I was sooooo not used too, they felt weird (not making excuses just saying...) would def like to use them more often tho for those heavier weights to try n nail them me thinks  I also noticed that I wasn't really Good Morninging into the squat either when I watched the vid, see what you guys think when ya see it

Good stuff on the deads chick! Re: wraps well they take a while to get used to especially if they are tightly wrapped rather than loose wraps. And bench yes the key to that is leg drive but keep at it. Soooo where to from here??

And MorattiBoi aka Big J where's the vid at  keepin us waiting :naughty:

good work on the dead jess you will be happy with that....I saw you 2 wrapping your knees why would you go through 6 weeks of training without them then use them on test day didnt make sense to me on sat ??????anyhow good work even if your 90kg squat isnt deep enough you wouldnt have stood up with that weight 6 weeks ago so thats gotta be good yeah.......nice to meet you john !!!!

Awesome work jess!

few things to work on

Squat- Need to stand strong at the start: knees locked hips through. Big breath of air into the gut and sit back (which you were doing which is good 8) ) remember to squeeze the upper back together and try and pull your elbows under the bar, this helps with keeping tight and the chest out motion.

Bench- you got a real nice arch, but your not getting up on your traps. When you can get up on your traps properly its alot easier to push back into the bench for leg drive. The bar also tends to go a bit all over the place but I think this is more of an issue around strengthening your ancillary muscles to hold that bar in place.

Deads- allgood in the hood really, just focus on staying tight, and keep your arms locked super tight!!!! If your arms are bent when you start the pull its a bicep tear waiting to happen.

Again awesome work, keep at the raw training and the numbers will skyrocket. And would it hurt you to eat a pie or two?

Agreed, thinking back now... no I wasn't squeezing & probably gripping the bar like I wanna kill it either

Bar was going all over the place! Faaark  Ok so need to focus on traps too... all good all good

Wow i had no idea I was even doing that!! Duely noted for sure.

Footage aye, f*ck its awesome to learn from. The camera never lies...

Your deads are looking good :D

And don't worry your bench set up (traps and leg drive) will come in time! It takes alot of work and pain.. The easiest way to put it is to imagine that there is a pencil inbetween your traps and the aim is to keep that pencil there! Another way to keep your traps tight is to pull the bar 'apart' when you bring it down to your chest. To hit 85KGs within the amount of time that you have been training is awesome! Just remember to lock your knees and the more you push your butt back the less knee travel you will have and you might find that next time you attempt the 90KG, you'll smash it! Squeeze the bar between your neck and your back and look up, look up and that's where you'll go :) Eat well, train hard and you numbers will fly up! Awesome work
