I am not convinced that many legitamate businesses are comfortable advertising on a site that openly supports this type of content.:

yet these businesses are comfortable advertising on a site that allows discussion of an illegal substance? not a criticism by any means, just a thought

this is a very good point.

NO! :naughty:

so why exactly are we not allowed to start a new thread but post only 'suitable content'. it was a very popular thread and everyone had fun with it. i hate to say but i also am thinking rose ruined it. because she didnt just start spamming and ruin the fun that us guys were having posting amongst each other but also took it too far? dont want to see some girl that needs a tan tied up or wearing a gag tie lol.

the original pictures were mint =P~

What you guys have failed to understand is that BBNZ survives on advertising. I am not convinced that many legitamate businesses are comfortable advertising on a site that openly supports this type of content. By continually posting these pics you potentially damage the future sustainability of the site.

Yep, it's all about pleasing the people that pay $6.13 a day

JUST TYPE "NOT SAFE FOR WORK" or "R18"

it wasnt like PORN anyways.

me thinks people search for drama for entertainment purposes, regardless of actual offending.

similar to bored police with a quota to fill.

"gotta make use of me being a mod somehow..."

Some of us appreciate the significant shortfall and other crap that Andrew has to deal with and are very grateful for this. But couldnt you have decided Roses fate without the suspension and let her explain in her own words the reasons why she posted up pics when she was in her own way I guess completely certain she was following guidelines and the rules?

First of all, NZMusclemonster, I don't know how that site estimates our ad revenue, but it's not $6 a day. We are fortunate to have a contract with APN Media which gives us targeted ads at better rates. It was a long hard road to get that contract, and I'd rather not jeopardise it.

Which brings me to the Hot Chicks thread. I was uneasy about it from the outset. These topics have a habit of getting out of hand, and this one did long before Rose started posting.

So why was she suspended? Because she was the main recent offender, and continued posting pornographic photos even after multiple warnings from the mods. But don't worry - she'll be back on Saturday.

The Hot Chicks topic will stay locked. That means in a week, it will automatically be deleted. I suggest if there are any photos you simply can't do without, you save them to your computer in the next few days. :D

Here's why we won't be having a Hot Chicks topic any more:

1) The purpose of this website is to promote bodybuilding. This is a sport which the public already associates with activities that are, at best, weird and deviant, and at worst, pornographic and illegal. In short, this is a sport with a major image problem. And when bodybuilding forums have a dedicated porn topic (even in a closed section of the site), it really doesn’t help.

2) I’ve already heard reports of workplaces blocking access to NZBodybuilding.co.nz on account of it “being porn”. And this was from people who never looked at the Hot Chicks topic.

3) Money. As has been pointed out, the forum survives on advertising revenue. And advertisers are notoriously prudish about who their brands mingle with. To be honest, many would probably be uncomfortable being on a bodybuilding site in the first place (see my first point). As I write this, there’s a National Bank advert on the page. Although their male executives might privately enjoy the Hot Chicks topic, I can’t imagine them being thrilled at the prospect of the bank’s advert sitting beside a photo of two rather preoccupied lesbians.

Basically, this forum needs to stay squeaky clean. Which means if you want to get your porn fix, you’ll need to get it elsewhere. Perhaps some of the 3,760,000 "Hot chicks" images Google has.

that thread was over 6 months old you waited for rose to post content that was blantently over the top to close the entire thread? all the other content was fine. girls with huge asses is only normal in the bodybuilding world. so are girls in bikinis.

it never got 'progressively worse' it went from teens to babes in bikinis and thats pretty relavent to bb. 8)

Rose responds.

Let me start off by saying I respect the mods decision, I don't care about being suspended.

However. Having worked in the corporate banking industry for 3 years I can attest that a banking exec is less likely to care about bare-bum lipstick lesbians than most. Will they care if their ad is next to a pair of hot chicks kissing? Likely not. They will only care about revenue. Sex sells. It attracts people. Without people (members), clubs die. As Boosting pointed out, other sites have R18 areas. I expect in just about every sporting forum, sex features in there somewhere. It's the way the world works.

I was not intentionally flouting the rules as some have chosen to believe. My interpretation of certain things obviously differs to the site mods. I don't have a problem with that, this is their site. And no I'm not bitching, Courts

Specifically though, what I do care about is communication, that involves me or is about me.

Repeat warnings.

[MOD EDIT: This post breaches forum rules. Please read the terms and conditions you accepted on registration.]

The only warnings I received were a couple of mod edits which initially prompted me to check the terms and conditions.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country.

While the images I posted were sexually-orientated, ALL of the images in that thread were. I honestly don't believe the pics I posted differed in nature to hot chicks wearing lingerie. I simply don't consider latex as more sexually explicit than lingerie. Nor is it illegal, abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful or threatening. It's just different. Last time I checked, women kissing each other isn't illegal either. This type of image had been posted in the thread in the past, by other people. My point is not that they weren't suspended, but those images were not mod edited, which to me meant they were acceptable.

On reflection I admit that two, maybe three images I posted recently crossed the boundary but I received no warning specific to those images and they were not mod edited.

In fact the only communication I received from a mod was after I emailed them a few weeks previous to my suspension, asking what was wrong with something I had posted and that was mod edited, so that I could avoid breaching the forum rules. The communication I received back was not specific or I failed to garner the point, obviously, because I got suspended.

I realise the site mods are busy and are doing mod duties for nothing in return, but this might be something that everyone has a wee think about.

Good communication is important. No one is perfect at it, least of all me.

At the end of the day, being specific, clear and concise avoids confusion :D
