Only problem with going to a tailor is the cost - with so many pieces of clothing that need adjusting, it would cost heaps (looking at a good $20 or more per item) - so I'm going to have to do a home job for most, but will get professional job for anything really tricky!

Yes he is the shit. You just have to be pushy with timeframes or expect a wait.

6.5kg is missing from my frame since last year, and it's making all my clothes look like crap! No money for a new wardrobe right now

Awesome CC!

Um, do you wanna trade? Cos all my clothes are getting too small, and like you my budget is prioritised elsewhere :pfft:

 Losing that weight and keeping it off is an accomplishment in itself. Well done!

Lol, my clothes are being stretched to capacity at the moment. I refuse to buy bigger sizes :snooty:

That's great Chillicat! I sew darts in everything around the waist to pull them in, you can even do this on jeans, or hot wash your clothes and they shrink a little

Darts are a good idea.

I need to do that on some new jeans I just bought too - i have big problems with gaping backs of jeans (small waist in relation to my thigh means I always have this problem) - so I might try darts too.

Oooh, might catch you in Qtown then? We're heading down Aug 24 for a week.

Well done on the weight loss chick

We'll be arriving in Q'town on Fri 28th I think - we're starting at Mt Hutt for a couple of days the weekend before, then Mt Dobson for a couple of days, then Ohau for another couple of days before heading to Q'town then Wanaka. Pretty much 2 days at each field all going well, but prob just one day each at the Q'town fields as not as keen on them as Wanaka.

Can't wait to get my snow legs back - I have only boarded about 2 days each season for the last 3 seasons, so I'm super rusty, and after my silly accident (chairlift related, very dumb) last year, confidence is at an all time low. But I've spent lots of time at Hutt in the past, so that's a great field to get my confidence back, and I'm going to have a private lesson too, to get me back on track.

Rest day yesterday, due to needing to leave work early to see a really fun film at film fest - Valentino, the Last Emporor. Really enjoyed it.

Food:

1. Oats, yog and PP

2. Tuna and chickpea wrap

3. PS

4. Tuna and chickpea wrap

5. Pork stirfry

6. Yogurt and PP

Shoulders today. Hope I am feeling more energetic than the last couple of weeks when I did shoulders. Hoping that perhaps the rest day right before might make me less crap this week. Might need some of that Superpump you've all been talking about!

Hehe yeah I fell off the chair lift last season (I'm gonna blame the big fat skier who stomped all over my board, so I couldn't move).

Happens to the best of us chick.

My accident was just completely stupid and happened right on my first day of the season when we first arrived. Went up first chair at Turoa, then boarded across to second one (quad, not 6), went up that chair. I had a guy to my left, and as he got off we both went to the left, but he stopped, and I wasn't looking and crashed into him - which wouldn't have been a problem, except for the fact that I fell right on top of the poor guy, and my hip banged on his board - felt this huge surge of pain go right through my entire body, and that was it - hadn't even done a complete run and I'd hurt myself.

The hip thing was so bad that I couldn't go to the gym for the next few months - I tried a pump class shortly afterwards, but with the injury being in such a central part of my body, everything I did just made it hurt.

Spent most of the first day drinking coke zero in the cafe and trying to get up the confidence to have a slide. Did a few runs, but really didn't get my money's worth that day. I had a 2 day pass and went up again the next day - but lucky for me they didn't scan my pass so I got a free day - which frankly I think was fair given that I only used the lifts a handful of times!

That quad chair is vicious! I saw at least two people fall off while trying to get on. SO MANY people fell off trying to get off.

At least I managed to get off - one time at Mt Hutt (when I was very new to using chairlifts) I kind of forgot to get off in time and the chair whipped round and started heading back down! I was with my husband (who wasn't my husband at the time, but still went on to marry me despite my embarrassing ways), and I yelled out at him in an 'oh shit silly me' kind of way. The liftie stopped the chair and had to help me jump down  Someone asked hubby (to be) if he knew me, and he said 'no':lol: Can't say I blame him

Bwahahaah! I've had that with my man too. At Whakapapa on the Waterfall Express chair (which is like, the easiest chair to get off if you can remember), I completely assed off it and had to crawl to get out of the way. He just kinda looked at me, then left very quickly to save himself any embarrassment.

I saw Vatentino on Sunday it was way cool 8) made me want to go and make lots of lovely dresses! Coco Chanel movie is out too!

Valentino inspired me too - so creative, and the amount of work that goes into those dresses is just amazing. I loved that dress we saw them working on, with the floaty strips with the sequins - beautiful!

My wife saw it on Wednesday, she liked it...I was killing my shoulders at the gym, so we both got home happy

You could tell that a lot of the audience had also seen The September Issue, as everyone laughed when the camera went on Anna Wintour (nothing funny in that, just that knowing kind of laugh) - same with whenever Andre from Vogue showed up in the film. Very enjoyable!

Did half a pump class today. Wanted to do the whole class, but unfortunatly had to rush back to work as I had someone coming in at 1pm. But did squats (6 mins!), chest, back and did the first part of triceps (dips) before I needed to leave. It was HARD since I haven't done it for about 5-6 weeks! And my face is still warm and pink from the effort! Shame I couldn't complete the class, but will try to fit these in more often, as it gets the heart going and has the bonus of using weights too.

I was indeed. I was the buff one :lol::lol:

No, I was the one looking like she hadn't done a pump class in 5-6 weeks and had forgotten how hard it was!

lol..dey were all buff..you must have been buff the one using the olympic bar with 20kg plates loaded on each end!

That would be a sight to see! Most I've ever seen is a regular bar with about 15kg each end. I manage 10kg each end for squats, but with that particular instructor my squats aren't very good after a couple of minutes, and I have to switch to wide squats for a rest

Just been for a quick cardio session at Bodyworks, since I have to be at work all weekend to study for an exam I have next week. Blah! Too much distraction at home though, so it has to be done.

Yesterday was interesting food and drinkwise, as I went to a couple of things last night. One was a cousin's birthday (well, technically she's my cousin's wife's sister - but easier to just say cousin!), the rugby, then back to party. Have had a good 5 weeks off the alcohol (other than a couple of sips of hubby's wine the other night just to taste a new one he'd bought), and been eating pretty well, with pleasing results. So last night wasn't enough of an occasion to go on a booze or food bender.

So we turned up at the party early, since we needed to leave for the rugby pretty early. I had planned on just drinking diet coke and not saying that I wasn't drinking (people just assume you've got a spirit in there anyway), but hubby had seen another cousin during the week and said that we were coming but that I wouldn't be drinking, so kinda ruined it.

So of course the pregnancy speculation starts (Please! I'm at an age where only the truly desperate to breed have babies as it's their last opportunity before the baby factory closes down - and I'm definitely not one of those people!). I deny it, and they either assume you're in first trimester and don't want to say anything, or else push you for a reason why you're not drinking. Then the sabotage behaviour begins when they realise that you're genuinely not pregnant, so therefore have no excuse (in their narrow minds) to not drink.

I had one (girl) cousin asking me what I was afraid would happen if I had a drink. Then when we went back to the party after the rugby (and I did actually have a glass of wine since it was after 10pm and nearly time to get the last bus home, so I knew it would just be the one) another girl cousin got excited that I had a drink and then said to me that I'm much prettier when I have a bit more weight on me! I don't really see how she could be saying something truthful at that point, because I was dressed pretty much entirely in black with this long floaty cardie type thing that meant that you could barely see my body shape and really it would be difficult to tell if I'd lost weight (though earlier it was clear that they were all looking at my stomach for signs of up the duffness!). And pretty was not something I was ever going to be yesterday, given what the wind did to my hair the minute I left the house yesterday morning - so I can't see that a few missing kilos had anything to do with me looking crap!

I didn't want to be super rude, since it was her party, but I did say that I don't really care what anyone else thinks as it's my body and if I think it's looking better than last year, then that's all that matters. For the record, she is very overweight and always moaning about it, so really I just see a green eyed monster talking.

So my food and drink yesterday was pretty good, all things considered:

1. oats, PP, yogurt and banana

2. Yogurt and PP

3. PS

4. tuna and chickpea wrap

5. vege soup and PS (forgot to bring something like chicken or fish to add to the soup which was supposed to be my pre-going out dinner, so needed the PS to fill me up more)

6. Protein bar (bought from Mastertel earlier in the evening, and which saved me from having to eat pizza at the corporate box we ended up in when I was starving hungry at 8pm and really couldn't bring out a tin of tuna in front of people hubby needs to schmooze with - wifey's behaviour reflects on hubby - byo tins of tuna not such a good look! Protein bar on the way to the box way more discreet!)

7. One bite of pizza and one glass of wine

8. PB wrap
