so i hear there is a lifting comp coming up at eastside in november i think i might give it a go, just for fun

this is were i think my maxs are atm

bench 130

squat 160

deadlift 200

so i will try improve on them before then!

It will be great to see you have a go in the club lift. Your lifts at the moment are probably pretty conservative but that is a good way to start. Based on doing a comfortable 140x6 high bar squat, we should be able to push you well past 160. Mike and I can help you get the bar a little further down your back and also get your stance out a bit. This powerlifting style squats should add a bit to your total.

yea i did, havnt really been lifting heavy lately though, more higher reps

yea i need help with bar position/stance if i could get that nailed im confident i could get 180

Yeah I'd say you would be closer to 170 high bar right now. Low bar and taking your stance out would also add more, depending on how strong your hips, hammies and glutes are.

yup as above, keen to give it a shot and find out anyway. ill try get danny to give it a go too.

Nice bench. Make sure you get some practice in pausing with commands. You don't want to get a surprise come comp time.

Hey bro, how is the 4 days a week training working out for you and Danny?

all good at the moment, plenty of rest for a change. will get into a new split in a few weeks time if you got any tips id be keen to hear them

Good stuff mate. I think as long as you are making progress on this then stick at it. Recovering is the hardest part. Bodyweight seems on the rise and your strength levels are good.

I think the powerlifting comp will be good for you. Sometimes a competition provides that added bit of incentive that can give everything a boost. And the nature of the event will be lots of fun while still being serious.

Pop down tomorrow for the bench qualifier if you are free.
