Just thought I would fill you in on what goes on over here in the sport of bodybuilding.

As you know the sport over here has a far greater profile than we enjoy back home (population has a lot to do with this), so it stands to reason the fan base is a lot greater. So great in fact that today me and Lee were standing outside a store (The Smothie Shop and Sport Supplements) next to the Golds we are training at, when this guy pulls up in his car, jumps out, comes over and just looks at LEE..... then he burst out, "Damn, your Lee Preist!", then grabs him and starts to hug him then he almost starts crying as he is so happy to see Lee. You see he thinks he is Lee's biggest fan and he's ecstatic to be talking to Lee Preist. Lee talks to him for a good 15 minutes then we say our goodbyes. All the while he is still shouting out "That's Lee Preist".

Anyhow the fans over here seem to really admire their champions, whilst we seem to put our champions down, I wonder why that is ???

Oh and one more thing there is a lot of talk over here at the moment that Lee is going to leave the IFBB and go with this so called new federation, let me just say this: We don't have a DAMN CLUE about any new federation, never heard from them or know who they are, but yet they seem to think Lee's a done deal?? That's fame for you!!

The photos are of Lee taken Monday 12th September - 5 weeks out from the Olympia!!!! And the guy with the knee pads is the guy filming Lee's new video and the Road to the Olympia. He looks like a storm trooper, but he is an excellent guy and great man that all the guys use to film their dvds!!!

Hrdcor, why does your cameraman wear shin-guards? :think:

Lee, and Hardcore...Love those pics of Lee, especially the Tattoo ones!!!!

I know Lee does not like to do the BFTO, but the fans love it!! (WHat bodypart is he training in on the DVD??)

Also, Is Mits filming Lee's new DVD at the same time??? HOPE SO!!!! Any idea of a release date?????

Maybe Mits can add a clip of Lee getting ink done???????

Yes it is Mitsu, and he is filming Lee's new dvd (starring me) as well as the Road to the Olympia.

Lees new dvd should be really good, we just keep it real and what you will see is Lee as Lee is!!! Should be some real funny bits!!!!! Plus quite a lot in there that I won't be surprised if Lee gets in trouble for!!! (Maybe even I might get in trouble too --cool). Also lots of good hard training. We train everything on it. We did it in three days, nearly f--king killed me!!!!!

The release date for the dvd will not be for a while yet as more filmimg has to be done with Lee racing etc so you will have to wait!!! Sorry, Mitsu told me not to give any indications of dates as he does not want to swamped with requests yet!!!!!

lee looks very good imo. a bit more bloated in the face compared to recent contests, a bit of a return to the 90s. should be good

He's not bloated he just hasn't started water depleting yet.

He's well on track, and will be ready a few weeks out, them hardcore will just tweak a few things to reach perfection.

Hardcore, if Lee can get into the same condition as you did in 2001 Grand Prix he's in with a good chance. Cant wait till OLYMPIA Day!!!!!

The only bloat I see is Mits looking kinda bloated!! :)

Lee is looking insane!! And can't wait for the video, whenever it comes out. Those abs are rediculous already, and for 5 weeks out, he looks like he's right there and the timing is perfect .. can't wait to see him on stage...

Actually Lee's not bloated in the face at all. We filmed the Road To The Olympia today and he was starting to look a little drawn, it may just be my photos.

We are in Dallas this weekend for the Europa pro show. It's a big event with an amateur NPC show on the Fri, plus Pro women, plus the pro show on Sat - should be interesting. I think Dennis James is competing and apparently Nassa Elsombaty is competing as well??!! (that should be interesting)

Lee's ex wife (and still good friend) Cathy is competing on Fri in the Pro figure. She has come down in size and is now in figure.

I will try to get pics as much as possible without getting in trouble with the promoters, and give you a full contest report when I get back.

Ok I am back from Dallas and the Pro Show. Boy it was a great event - it was held in a huge conference center, and not only did they have the Europa Pro Mens', Womens', figure and fitness, they had a huge expo with around 40 exhibitors, plus WWC wrestling, UFC fighting, state powerlifting meet, state martial arts comp and strong man contest!!!!

It was awesome, oh and dont forget the Dallas Amateur BB champs as well!!!

The show is run by a husband and wife team and it was a great event, very special!!!!

The host hotel is attached to the center so I saw and meet just about anyone you want to name in BBing, some of whom I spent time with were Rich Caspari, Flex Wheeler, Ronnie Coleman, Gunter Schlcamp, Troy Elves, John Sherman, and Nassar Elsombaty (how's that for a bit of name-dropping, huh?!)

The show was won buy Branch Warren (a Texan) and second was Johnny Jackson (who I believe should not have placed due to his really bad gyno!!) then Quincy Taylor was third and little Dave Henery fourth.

There were 30 competitors in the men's pro show all having amazing bodies (probably why they are pros, huh!!) They were from all over the world, I will go through my photos and try and put some good ones up (I am not that good a photographer). I got backstage but ended up talking to a lot of the guys whom all seem to know me (go figure huh???) and forgot to get a lot of shots but I got some!!

I will also give you my thoughts on the women's BBing in my next post!!

One thing I gotta tell yas is about the women's bodybuilding. There is a lot of talk around about how it is dying and the IFBB has started to distance itself from the sport. Well at first, being in NZ, I was rather shocked and concerned about this. I have grown up with BBing and my wife was a past universe champion, so I couldn't see how this could be true as our women in NZ are still very feminine and pleasing to look at and admire.

My opinion has changed!!!! I now have an understanding why the above may actually be a reality. The women BBs I saw over here either competing or just walking around were freaks. They looked, to my mind, disgusting. Most (not all mind you but most!!) were men in bikinis. Actually no - the men would have looked nicer in bikinis!! They all have pushed the boundaries way too far and the masculinity they mostly all were suffering from made them look circus-freakish. A lot of them tried hard to look feminine with makeup, silicon and anything else that may disguise them as female, but having bad acne, facial hair, receding hair lines, and Barry White voices soon put a stop to that. I was a little shocked as I believed (or hoped) it wasn't all that bad - I was wrong!!

I blame the IFBB for what I saw, as it has been their judging that kept the girls pushing the boundaries of masculinity. Every time they awarded first place to a girl who had totally reversed her natural female hormone base, another girl would do it even further to take away the title. Boundaries needed to be drawn and acted upon, and they never were!!

So just where is female BBing now? Well, in the show in the weekend they held the women's BBing pros on the Fri night along with the amateur show!!! Sad really (I am actually quite upset about it) but not as sad as some of the woMEN i saw!

Thank god my wife always stayed true to her femininity and knew when to say enough is enough and stayed beautiful!!

Note, this is in no way an attack on anyone personally, as all were nice people I meet... it is an observation on appearance, and after all isn't that BBing??
