I earnt another badge of honor today, ripped a callous open after 2nd set @ 65kg, real beauty. Hand was pissing out with blood all over the bar and only lucky Danny saw the blood on the bar before I did more reps.

Managed to bandage it up pretty good and finish the rest of the session. but PAINFUL

PB day tomorrow, feeling pretty shattered but I hope to FINALLY get my 80kg snatch I've been after for ages, 82.5 would be even better. Then 108-110Kg CJ would be excellent. If I can do those tomorrow (with body pretty run down etc) Then I'll set myself up well for 85/115 at the next comp in 4 or 5 weeks time.

Made 80kg Snatch (finally) today, with very little sleep and food, so hoping 82.5kg will come in the next 2 weeks, and 85kg 2 weeks after that. Also did some Power clean and jerks 3 @ 100kg, then called it a day. Heavy squatting tomorrow.

Missed a few target weights after the 20minutes break, really pushed myself but was just to gone by this stage. Managed to get reps out in f.squat after lower weight a bit.

Pleased with this session and how hard it was.

Nursing a weak body after yesterday session,

Missed one rep on 68, still having a bit of trouble with form from below the knee, but it's improving nicely.

Boy these were hard. Dodgy as jerks, catching forward etc, need to sharpen that up a lot and be more consistent, but at least didn't miss any.

You guys are both afternoon session, where as Im in the morning. so will have to see if I'm still around.

Harley?? What CJ challenge? I'd never turn that down, power clean either, bring it man!

I've put on 40kg since you saw me last (honest) so no longer need the vest. Besides, I think with the extra 30kg each side (for morning session at least) will make my lightness more of a liability than an asset.

hahaha Im not competing bro. Im having enough trouble getting out of bed in the morning on this sheiko cycle :lol: let alone go lift some more heavy stuff and pull a truck round a car park...but the camera will be rolling in these scone grabbing mits of mine so put on a good show for all the nice peeps wont ya :grin:

Managed to use the log without injuring my lower back, back felt really good and strong it was awesome.

So managed to do 6 or 7 overheads, some were from floor, couple were rep'd, really happy. Should set me up for 4 or 5 in 60seconds on Saturday.

So happy with the log, felt really strong, with my back sorted I found it's not really hard to get overhead at all, my od bits of abs work and anterior deltoid strengthening (static log holds and wide grip jerks from low on the chest) has worked wonders.

North Shores Strongest man!

Weighed in at 81.7kg, which is amazingly heavy for me, but I was wearing clothes and had about 2kg worth of food for breakfast, even then it's higher than usual which is good.

Results

Truck Pull up incline

41seconds, placed 8/13

Goods - legs were strong.

Bads - highlighted my weak arms, my biceps were toast about halfway through then I couldn't get any tension on the rope which meant my body position was much higher than it should have been. Not surprising considering I haven't done any arms pulling training for over 12months easy.

Log Press 70kg

6 reps in 60seconds.

I was aiming for 4/5 so 6 was good.

Placed me near the bottom still, bit more arm strength to chest it and better drive and 9/10 wouldn't be far off for me realistically.

Farmers Walk 83kg / hand.

26seconds, first place did 21seconds, I placed 6/13.

The run went well, didn't drop, turn cudv'e been better but was still ok.

Tyree Flip ~260kg

By far my worst event, I sucked with 3 flips and last equal placing. Technique and arm strength left a lot to be desired.

Stones, (Guessing) 79, 88, 95, 106x 123x

First three were easy but I was really slow, think I was trying no to hurt my back, anyway got to 106 with not a lot of time left and then struggling to balance it.

I went back to the 106 later on and lapped and chested it no problem, so glad I still had strength for it, bit of technique would help with speed and I'd be away.

Overall placing - Bottom half of the group.

Awesome day, thanks to Justin, AuSM and AUT Strongman club for hosting/supporting this event, was lots of fun.
