Short on time today so had to train at another gym. Bad move... I had my work shoes and belt stolen while I was working out. Not happy at all...

Deadlift

3 x 100kg

3 x 125kg

2 sets of 3 x 145kg

4 sets of 2 x 160kg

Didn't have my belt with me so they felt a bit slower than usual. Good for the core of course.

A1 DB Dly

5 sets of 10 x 10kg

A2 Bent Over Rows

5 sets of 10 x 60kg

Quick session (not quick enough to catch the thief though), missed out the benching and second round of deadlifts to deload for the bench comp.

Na just my pants belt. They actually took it off my work pants...

That kinda reminds me of the time we got our dryer stolen from our house. The thieves actually took my clothes out of the dryer and left them behind.. how thoughtful :roll:

I bombed :(

Warmups went okay, though a little bit rushed...

1st attempt 120kg - got the start command, lowered the bar to my chest then got told "rack --- press". I lost all tension when I heard rack and subsequently failed the lift. Apparently it was something to do with my feet. I was then told I could retake the lift at the end of the round (just three lifters later)

1st attempt (take two) 120kg - Lowered it a bit too low, got a good shunt off my chest. Thought I was going to nail it then my left arm just died. Failed.

2nd attempt 120kg - I was told to lower it a bit further up my chest, I tried to do so but ended up dumping it towards my face. Failed.

3rd attempt 120kg - Lowered it much better this time. Got a good drive off the chest and locked it out, little lag in my left arm but not too bad. Unfortunately my ass came off the bench and received two reds.

Pretty annoyed to have bombed out, but that was kind of the point of this comp for me. If I was going to fail at any stage benching this I wanted it to be now. That way I can take some lessons away from today and fix them for April.

Two biggest things I need to fix:

- Where I lower the bar, needs to be a bit further up my chest to load the shirt properly. Although I am capable of doing it now I need to be consistent. Therefore I'll try to get a sz 44 shirt so I can touch with a lower weight.

- Foot placement/setup. I need to position my feet straighter and learn to drive more off my heels than the balls of my feet. This should correct the ass lifting problem.

After the crapiness of bombing I was bloody energetic so I decided to the squats I had scheduled for today. Smashed them.

Squat

5 x 80kg

4 x 100kg

2 sets of 3 x 115kg

5 sets of 2 x 132.5kg

DB Fly

3 sets of 10 x 20lb

Box Squat (Westside style)

5 x 65kg

2 sets of 5 x 82.5kg

4 sets of 4 x 100kg

C J 80, 85miss, 85

Pretty happy really, 70 felt easy once I did the darn lift properly, and 85 felt tight too. So bigger better numbers next comp - BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!

Got OB's car jack out today and stretched out the legs of my suit. Now it still gives me good support, but minus the terrible pain in the legs.

Squat

Raw warm ups then added sz 40 centurian...

3 x 120kg - straps down no belt

3 x 135kg - ""

2 sets of 3 x 150kg - straps down w/ belt

4 sets of 2 x 170kg - straps up + belt

150 was nearing depth, the 170s were about 6-8" high. I wasn't able to go low bar with the straps up (straps wouldn't let me pinch my shoulders and the bar slips down the straps too), so I'll have to go high bar. I switched to a wider stance the last set and I got deeper. Might stick with that in future.

Bench Press w/ 17.5kg chains

Even with 45kg my left shoulder and forearm were niggly and making me extend unevenly. I think this may have partially caused my left arms failing on Saturday. I'll go easy on the bench for a few session.

CSR

5 sets of 10 x 20-30kg

Westside Style Box Squats

3 x 65kg

3 x 82.5kg

3 x 100kg

4 sets of 3 x 115kg

So far no pair of pants/shorts have withstood this ultra-wide style of squatting. The arse of my pants was pretty much completely ripped by the second set, it was quite cold having the sit on the box each time!

5 sets of 3 x 160kg - knee wraps for the last set

Reps were round about depth, got my feet out reasonably wide and pointed them out more (thanks FatBoy). Few reps were a bit dodgy form wise but not issues getting the weight back up. Very much looking forward to my skills assessment for squat next week!

Bench Press

Still a bit iffy so decided to leave it. Did a bunch of JM presses instead. Followed up with some chinup and shit.

Front Squat

2 sets of 5 x 62.5kg

2 sets of 4 x 82.5kg

3 sets of 3 x 100kg

Argh... 100 was pretty heavy, very taxing on the core. But that's a good thing!

a little shaky on a few reps buts looks like your doing it easy as, what you think your max is around atm ?

With the suit, straps up and knee wraps on, I have no clue. I'll be testing it out next week. Hopefully 200+. I did 175 a few weeks back with knee wraps. Won't be testing that anytime soon but hopefully it's up around 180ish now.
