DE Bench

Speed Bench

10 sets of 3*57.5kg - varied grips (I rounded the weight up instead of down)

Right at my limit speed here. My competition grip was fast enough, but my close grip was only just under 3 seconds.

DB Bench

3 sets of 10*50lb

Might lower the reps next week.

DB lat raises

2 sets of 10*10lb

10*15lb

Giving the shoulders a little grief still.

DB Rows

2 sets of 8*75lb each hand

Upper Body Sled Drag Medley

One length each of; Front raising, reverse flies, pushdown and chest press

Did it twice. Got the shoulders going in a very good way. Will do this more often! Once I'm on holiday I'm going to sneak in for some more extra workouts. But don't tell my girlfriend...

ME Squat

One of my best mate's 21st last night. Only a few hours sleep under my belt and hardly eaten anything all day... Except for one night after exams finish, no more drinking until the comp.

ME Bench

Latest training session I've had in some time! Got to the gym around 5. Spent all day studying (and all night after I finish this...) :cool::situp:

Paused Bench Press

10*20kg

It turns out my set up is really skewed... What I feel is an even setup is way off it... My right foot is way further back than my left. When I correct this it feels like I'm off centre but apparently I'm not. Spent ages trying to fix it before my last set but tired myself out in doing so.

The temporary fix is to move my right foot forward, but I think it would be better if I can get my left back that far too. So I'm going to investigate hip mobility/flexibility exercises. Anyone know?

DB Shoulder Press

3*55lb - wasn't holding one of the weights evenly, didn't help.

There's some stuff on here that might help? I've been doing the stretches in that Squat Rx #5 religiously for about 3 weeks now.. and a little of the tightness has gone thank goodness.

Into a new pendulum wave, speed felt very fast.

Speed Deadlifts

7 sets of 1*125kg and 2 sets of 1*135kg

Messing around with technique today... Think I discovered a way to be more explosive

Romanian Deadlifts

10*60kg

8*100kg

8*120kg

6*120kg

First time doing these, they got the hamstrings firing, lowered to about mid shin then came back up. Was a little hard on the grip no deloading between reps.

Lol, my hamstrings are telling me about it today! Good exercise! Just have to be mindful, 'cause my autopilot wants to turn it into a normal deadlift!

Just got back from the gym: I officially sucked today. Tried sumo for the first time, got up to 150kg and couldn't even break it off the floor. So I switch to conventional and although I got it up it was bloody hard. I think there are a few reasons for this...

1) I'm sick

2) Studying for exams is ****ing tiring...

3) I'm not eating enough cow (or any other food for that matter)

4) I think I'm overtrained

I'm sick of having ME squat on Sunday too, think I'm going to switch to Mon ME squat, Tues ME bench, Thurs DE Squat and Sat DE bench.

A deload might be a good idea too... I think I'll lay off until Friday. Also I'm going to start eating properly again. Because I wasnt to lift in the afternoon at the PH open I have to be above 90kg, so I might as well get a decent amount above it.

I was above 90, but now I've dropped below. It won't be a problem, I just might as well be well over 90 if I'm competing in the 100s.

My exams finish next Wednesday. Law is teh hard :cry:

Hmmmm must be the stress, not good. Have you got some mass gain protein, you could skull back a few of them? Scrambled eggs on toast always goes down well when your not feeling the best too

Yeah make my own mass gain shakes, I'll start downing them again.

Had an exam today, was sick as a dog and had next to no sleep... Been thinking about my training etc. I've been thinking about my training... Maybe some changes around the corner.

Still don't have much of an appetite but I'm managing to force feed myself! Yesterday I managed to down:

10AM

1 SS Super mass gainer shake

-400ml milk

-50g protein powder

-about 100ml yogurt

-2 bananas

-handful of oats

-a lashing of olive oil

-big tablespoon of peanut butter

12PM

5 scrambles eggs on toast

2PM

Protein shake w/ milk

couple table spoons of peanut butter

4PM

Homemade burger (leftovers) - 200gram beef pattie :D

6:30PM (went to mum's for dinner :D)

4 chicken drumsticks

big serving of rice risotto with nuts etc. in it (yum)

salad

9:30PM

Casein protein shake w/ milk

today:

10AM

SS super mass gainer (same as above)

12PM

Protein shake (should have had normal food but was busy)

2PM (eating right now)

big chicken breast + rice (1/2 cup when uncooked) + heaps of BBQ sauce

I'll have some eggs on toast for afternoon tea and then we're cooking a roast for tea tonight!

Feeling the energy coming back as we speak :).
