I'd been steering clear of dairy, but learned about the BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple and toast). it was as much the cramps from beind dehydrated as all get-out...

Mmmm - strong coffee huh! Mind you, it wouldn't be the first time I've been making breakfast and poured OJ into my coffee mug (with the instant coffee already in there!)

TFB - you don't surely??!! I thought you were a fellow purist?! :?

Ya know, there are just some mornings where it's the quantity, not the quality, that matters :pfft: as in "Give me the coffee and no-one needs to get hurt!"

But yes, I knowz what I likez...we're spoiled here in Wellieworld for good coffee, and you can't beat a Sunday morning with a big plunger of something by Screaming Turtle, Havana or The Immigrants' Son...

Until Il Casino closed, they were one place a guy could get a cafe corretto - an espresso with a shot of grappa in...perfect way to end an Italian meal!

Yep, you can't live in Dunedin without the smell of coffee from Greggs...

Before it was hip, there was Stewarts Coffee House on the corner of the Octagon, and there was The Governors..which has been there since forever!

I used to think Dunedin had everything:

A. Beer - Speights

B. Whisky - Wilsons

C. Chocolate - Cadbury's

and great roads for riding too...

Haha - Governers. Seedy little place - but great food (cheap & hearty)

Saturday 19 July

Back in the Saddle :)

Quads/ hams

SM Squats (wide)

10 x 90kg

8 x 110kg

6 x - tried for 130kg, got one rep out then got stuck in the hole n had to unload, remaining five at 110kg

12 x 90kg

Walking lunge-squats

4 sets of 7 reps per side clasping 20kg plate, left-lunge/pulse, right-lunge/pulse, squat

Lying leg curls

20 reps at 35kg for warm-up then

6 reps at 70kg, 1s up, 1s hold, 1s down, 0 rest

8 reps at 35kg, 3s up, 2s hold, 1s down, 0 rest

20 reps at 15kg, 4s up, 4s hold, 4s down, 0 rest

With the form nazi tweaking my form - toes pointed to cut the cheats, those 20x 4-4-4s are brutal.

BB Stiff legs

10 x 80kg

8 x 100kg

6 x 120kg

Diet

0730 - b'fast: cereal, coffee, grapefruit juice

1000 - coffee and cake (what? the cafe couldn't sell me 100g of cooked brown rice, so I figured brown cake was the same  )

1230 - 2x molenberg, 120g beef

1500 - apple, coffee

1630 - coffee, maltodextrin

1700 - train (supps: aspirin, caffein, kre-alkalyn, l-carnitine)

1900 - 200g beef, 2x molenberg, 1 apple, 1x green tea

Overall: About what happens when you don't eat enough... if I'd had the nutrition better sorted, I'd probably have a couple more of the squats...still weak from getting way dehydrated while crook earlier in the week, but happy with the weights.

Oh, and ran into a mate this evening, was trying to talk me over to the dark side for a powerlifting comp at the end of the year... but I's gotta really lift my bench for that to happen
