Entry 1: Whatever Today Is

I went to the gym for the first time today in quite a while as I have a broken arm and my neck is in a brace.

Squats

120 x 8 x 3

Deadlift

140 x 3 x 2

were the highlights. Just looking to get back into things so I'm ready when I'm fully recovered. Felt a small twinge in my back though during the squats and may have to take 3-4 weeks off, see how things are tomorrow. Hit the treadmills and bikes for quite a while as I find cardio work much more enjoyable. I then ate 3 cobbs of corn when I got home along with a bread roll.

Also in some slightly more positive news, my back seems to be feeling alright and I should be able to have a training session tomorrow. Thank you for all the get well soon messages I recieved via PM. Also I'm going to see the doctor on Tuesday about getting my neck brace off which is also good news.

Entry 2:8/01/08

Had an early session today, nearly reached double figures.

I then went down to the gym. Unfortunently I have to keep wearing my neck brace until Friday so had to train in it again.

Bench press

1 x 70 x 4

1 x 80 x 2

Mainly sticking to cardio work atm. Just took it easy and casual today as I still have some stiffness in my lower back along with my other injurys and to add insult to injury when I was doing my bench press I kept getting searing pain up and down my forearm. I will have to go and get it checked out soon. On the food side of things I had a plate of nachos and a bag of m & m's from a vending machine. I wanted to get a coke as well but did not have the right amount of change unfortunently. :(

dude, your not gonna make any gains unless you have a coke after your workout what are you an idiot ?

id say go for 2 bags m&ms or 1 m&ms and a bag of skittles at least.

as for the searing pain - that just means your hitting the chest area real good

Broken arm, neck in brace, sore forearms and lower back. Sounds like a classic case of over training to me - you've been pushing it too hard in the gym. My suggestion would be to hit your Mum up to increase your pocket money so you can get yourself some decent protein powder and increase your protein intake.

Either that or you could be suffering from a severe case of "Cock and Balls" (C&B) syndrome. It normally effects guys in their late 20's or early 30's and is mainly caused by environmental and lifestyle factors - i.e. living at parents home (typically downstairs basement areas), lack of sexual partners and having overly onanistic tendancies. The most noticable side effects are severe dependence on homecooked meals, photosensitivity (due to dark living environments), sore forearms or overdevelopment of the palmar aponeurosis and brachioradialus muscles. In which case next time you see your doctor you should ask him about C&B syndrome and get him to run a few tests. He should be able to diagnose it pretty quickly and prescribe a few things to help you out.

Look I started this journal as a way of keeping a record of my workouts and hopefully getting some serious feedback.

All I have got is pisstakes and comments that have nothing to do with my workouts. This reflects badly on all members of this site and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. I thought it would be great to join up to this site and interact with other bodybuilding enthusiasts around New Zealand and even the world but some people are ruining it for everyone.
