The 2008 IFBB Pro schedule has been published on the getbig site - it confirms the "New Zealand Grand Elite Pro" event for March 15 - with US$20,000 prize money and 3 Olympia qualifying spots up for grabs!

http://www.getbig.com/info/ifbb/ifbb-schedule2008.htm

This puts the event on a par with the Australian Grand Prix the previous week (March 8th). While the prize money is excellent, it's the 3 Olympia qualifying places that will surely attract some top competitors - I expect many of those going to Melbourne will also come over for our show ..... I can't wait! :D

Just so everyone is aware,

You must qualify at the regional show in the morning by winning your class to enter the eliet or you may recieve an invite which I believe will be going out next week to those who have shown interest and have won at a regional event.

There is no eleit class for the girls but the overall phsyique womans winner will get the eliet title and $500USD

If you are interested in the show and think that you might be eligable for an invite best to contact Jo Stewart ASAP

Very good post, IronGame - good to give people a heads-up about expressing interest in this event. Mind you, anyone who doesn't get an invite to the Elite show and feels they are good enough should give it their all and qualify through the regional event on the same day.

Some excellent overseas IFBB Pros have been signed up for the Pro section of the event - including Dexter Jackson (3rd at the 2007 Olympia and IMO one of the most pleasing physiques in boybuilding for some time) Chris Cormier and Troy Alves. It will be great to see how our local lads (Moe, Salah and Mike K) get on against these top pros!

 Absolutely! That will be very cool!

It would be good if they sold a complete event pass that got you into all shows.

hey guys, in reply to that pro card thingy, a guy i can see matching the pros is aldeen brown...at that north harbor show, he was the biggest mofo ive ever seen on stage...

Do you know if he is competing? His huge but remember BodyBuilding is not just about pure mass.

2guns would agree with me i think lol

and ya id agree! also ann, i think it would be unfair to compare him with dexter jackson and anyway dexter will compete as a pro at the elite and aldeen will compete as an ametuer or semi pro or what ever they want to call themselves
