IronGame
Does anyone else know much about this show? From what I have heard it will be an amature show run alongside a Pro show piggy backing off Tony D's Melbourn Pro ( which I believe is being moved to a different state because the Melbourn Grand Prix is on the same weekend? ) The amature show will be run as a normal NZFBB show and all the winners of each class will go in to an elite show ( same weekend ) where the guy's can earn prize money ( unfortunatly it seams the IFBB wont sanction prize money for the girls )Note: this is all just from what I have heard through the grape vine so who knows what will actually happen lol

2guns
how come there will be no testing at the elite show? it is an nzfbb show isnt it?
MasterTel
how come there will be no testing at the elite show? it is an nzfbb show isnt it?No, it's not an NZFBB show - it is being run under a totally separate new regime called IFBB NZEPBB (NZ Elite Pro Body Building). The plan is to run the first event in NZ a week after the Australian Grand Prix i.e. on March 8 (Aussie) and March 15 (NZ). The plan is to run a regional style event in the morning, with most regular classes on offer. All male physique class winners will then be eligible to join those specially invited to form an Elite class lineup later in the day, with $10,000 prize money to be split between the top 15 places - $3,100 for 1st, down to $100 for 15th. There is also a Pro class to be included in this event somewhere - depending on who gets signed up. A lot of the detail needs to be sorted out - I'll provide more info as it becomes available. waldo
From a spectacle point of view if it can work it will satisfy a good portion of the population. I guess we are at the point of having something to cater for all walks of bodybuilding life. Will be a good watch if it gets going.

Can the new IFBB-NZEPBB let us competitors know ASAP so we can start dieting for this new venture. One more thing that’s puzzling me is I see on Joe Stewarts web site that she’s going to be guest posing at the CNI and than of to the IFBB Masters Worlds this year. If I am not right did she take her self of the drug testing pool this year if yes how can she do all this when you have to be in the drug testing pool????? MasterTel
Gosh, Muscleroids - so many questions! OK, I'll answer them as best I can:Re: this new IFBB-NZEPBB plan for next year is it going to be a show where they are going to have normal regional style class. Yes, the plan is to have most regular regional classes available, with some "combinations" e.g. one class each for Novice Men, Novice Women, Novice Figure, Masters Men, Masters Women, Senior Figure, Junior Men. Open classes will have the usual splits as per our regional events. If so will it be drug tested???? I can't see any reference to this in the document I have, but I would assume there won't be any testing. Will the Elite class be limited to 15 competitors like in Aus this year??? There is a reference to a minimum of 10 competitors for this class, not a maximum. Also is it true the any IFBB Pro can’t do it unless they give up there pro card as that’s what Neil Gardiner did in AUS this year. Correct! Also you said about a pro class to be included in this event, if so is the new IFBB-NZEPBB talking to Tony D in AUS to see who he is signing up for next year. Yes, it seems that these two shows will have a lot of co-operation involved. I believe an attempt will be made to sign up as many pros for both events during the early season pro shows in the USA. Is this new show open to NABBA boy??? Top competitors from other organisations can certainly apply to compete. If they get to many men how will they decide who gets in the Elite class??? Again, I don't see a reference to a max number of competitors, so this may not be an issue. Can the new IFBB-NZEPBB let us competitors know ASAP so we can start dieting for this new venture. Perhaps you should contact Mark or Moe direct to get first-hand answers and advice. A guest poser does not have to be in the drug testing pool, plus Jo made her application to compete in this years World Masters Champs, and had it approved by the Exec, some time ago. MasterTel
so if someone wins prize money does this mean they cannot compete as an ametuer for nabba or the nzfbb anymore? The document says "Each competitor intending to participate in the NZ/Australasian Elite tour may also participate in all NZFBB amateur event". So that clearly says you can compete in these new events, plus continue to compete in NZFBB events. I'm not sure how that affects NABBA participation though. MUSCLEROIDS
Master TelThats not the way the IFBB do things. The way I read it, it is that all competitors that are doing any IFBB International events need to take there drug testing papers with them to the event. So now I ask why his Phil K been told if he does the IFBB Worlds he needs to do the Nats and get drug tested before he goes overseas. ED_AISH
I understand where you guys are comming from - but just because some people want to see a certain build on stage dosnt mean that doing drugs are the right thing to do.I plan on getting Big Naturally and truly believe I can do so.What does bug me is when Guys do the hard yards and get BIG naturally then still get a hard time trying to get to the international stage so I can see benefits of easing the testing but only because they don't have the means to do it properly.I also think that just as may people as those that don't come to watch because the guys arn't big enough would come if they thought the sport was more above board, the perception of a good percent of the the public is that BB is all about guys pumping themselves full of drugs, so they are not interested in getting involved. It is the first time they have tried something like this so just sit back and see what happens see what it brings.Personally I'm gutted because I'm going to be away in Aussie that weekend, otherwise I would have competed. Still there will be more shows next year so I'll pop up somewhere?
IronGame
I think that if this is run well it will be great for BBing in NZThere always seems to be a large proportion of competetors who look like they were just walking down the street and saw there was a comp going on and decided to strip off and embarass themself's
2guns
im all for the show, wont be doing it but just hope its not a f*ck up, that people make sure the rules are clear, that its fairly run and get it organised and out ther so people that are gonna do it have lots of time to get ready for it!cant wait to watch! Dumbelldog
A question for Mastertell that hasn't been asked;Since this show (the regional type one I mean) isn't tested but is an NZFBB show will the competitors qualify as per normal for the nationals that same year?
