Rest day today. Ate burgerfuel after work and went hot pools. Laxing to the maxing brahs.

prime the body for tommorows deadlift workout which will be 265x8 for the top set. That be 5kg PB on the 8s, looking forward to it.

Got my enthusiasm back, I think just with all the gpc stuff which had been bothering me for a long time and just built up and was making it unenjoyable. However it's still early days, hasn't squatted heavy or started benching yet so no idea how the arms are going to go this prep. But just take one workout at a time. Bring on tmw!

Whaaaaat. This GPC rant is crazy man. But weren't most of these things happening/sorted before the last comp anyway? Dodgy calls happen in every fed.. I've been pretty happy with the reffing so far... I thought your last comp went well so pretty surprised to why you are leaving gpc now....

deadlift

to 265x8, 240x8

lat pull down

3x12

seated row

3x12

not feeling as strong as the other deadlifts last week. But still got it done. The 8th rep wouldn't count in a comp I realise that and wasn't a full rep but with soft suit on it woulda come up and I gave up grinding as could feel my hamstring... Basically pointless completing the rep. So 265x7 for real but We are basing future numbers off it as a set of 8.

big pull coming.

How long did it take to get your breathing back to normal after that one?

A little while I probably had 5-10min before I did the 240x8. I have bigger rests on main lifts. It's pretty cruisey. Then my secondary and assistance stuff I power through with shorter rests. Depends how I feel on the day. Long day at work today.

Safety bar squats in the morning then I move house which will be fun cleaning 2 houses and moving all our shit.

gc speed squats

180x5x3, 205x2x3

high bar pause squats

140x3x5

leg press

7ppsx3x10

leg extension

3x15

good session, added my new SBD training wraps for the sets of 205kg. They ain't good for much but it's simulating the wrapped squat as I believe it's slightly different. Walk outs a little funny with this bar so still getting used to it, I had it mastered last year but will come back soon. Everything moved fast so we are still tracking well!

vid of last set.

Gotta travel to the good gyms. In Auckland at one point I drove 30min each way to go to gym I wanted. I just moved to other side of Tauranga, I work 5min from home and will still go to same gym other side of town. 2 gyms 5min from my house but they're shit.

You are a product of your environment. Been a member of a poorly equipped gym before, actually numerous times and it makes it harder.

in other news, bench tonight!

@maccaz no such gym as Eastside anymore. We all trained there in the beginning.

Do you mean CSPC? Long story but not training there after ownership changed hands

With the cambered squat bar, how does it change the way the weight feels across your back. Never used one and read it's great for strengthening your posterior chain etc etc etc any chance of an informative break down for those of us who have no idea what the actual benefit is.
