Bro that is fucked, I wouldn't want some drunk reffing my lifts.

Imagine if trying to set record and inebriated judging throws it the wrong way etc.

Well there is an AGM in July at nationals. That is the forum to table your concerns. It ain't my concern anymore cause I'm out, but if you are going to continue with gpc then it should be yours.

I bet you get the cold shoulder and a bad unprofessional attitude when you bring it up though. Or ignored like its some non issue.

Apparently the drunk chick hasn't Reffed since it became known.

Maybe this should be a different thread so don't derail from your log

Mate you're in Melbourne, you don't know what you're talking about. She hasn't reffed since August last year. Only because she is busy at work. She is still on the ref chat/group on FB and when they ask for refs for comps she is the one who declines because she is busy.

shes not actually aware of anything. No one has told her, hey this shit is unacceptable. No discipline. It's sloppy.

and no that's incorrect it's been common knowledge for a long period.

Big loss for GPC bro, a lifter of your caliber, understand completely though, just makes it tough when all you want to do is lift.

Exactly bro. Had people messaging me agreeing and blabbering to me but none have the integrity to do anything about it and make a stand by leaving. People just like to gossip I think. AGM in July be total waste of time. Nothing will change.

Anyway training is going well. Lots of volume right now and I'm handling it nicely. Gotta get weight down from 108-109 to 106-107 will make it that much easier to cut down for the weigh ins. August 27th is the comp date I think it'll be a good comp I been talking to some of the guys and offering some ideas. gonna do some recruiting, you don't have to qualify this year for nats so that's gonna be a big plus to get people involved. It's walk out squats too, love that shit

thinking about going to New Plymouth in June for the comp. haven't been to NP before so it's a good reason to go for a cruise.

Be helpful if someone from GPC addressed these issues. All the ignoring of issues does is validate them.

I did get a pm from SG about some of the issues and it'd be nice if he addressed them on the forum rather than via pm.

If I disappear and am never heard from again it's cos I asked questions.... RIP HB

I think it's probably flogging a dead hose somewhat now. They think they are right, I think I'm right. If someone raises it on forum I'm going to reply and it's pointless. I spoke to Hamish today and I'm happy to agree to disagree on the issues. I'm also happy to never do or attend another gpc nz competition ever again.

so let's not bro, it's all good now. I have had my rant and rave. I'm happy to move on.

I dont think GPC is all that bad.. The reffing has something to be desired and Hamish was trying hard to address this.

When doing reffing meeting with Hamish, montz , Tom Lee and I particular focus was on squats.

Its not like Hamish was white lighting his own lifts the referees just aren't paying enough attention/ not aware.. This is inexperience I guess.

I left GPC for IPF cause I wanted to be a little more competitive and compete against tested athletes and partly cause the reffing wasn't on par. I'm pretty anal/particular like most know when it comes to squat depth... Haha

GPC grew like wild fire and there was bound to be some issues. You did the referee training and had the opportunity to reff/ make a change. I know I tried too.

I think all untested feds are going to be thrown into the basket of "Non legitimate lifts" by IPF members. Cause let's face it no one outside of powerlifting gives a toss.

I dont believe UPANZ to be much different in terms of reffing. I haven't been to many for there meets so only see vids on bookface.

GPC/CAPO is what got me into the sport.

You can't call me out for doing ref exam and not reffing. Not once did I attend a gpc competition and sit in the crowd. I was always spotting/loading. When the call goes out for help at comp the ref spots always first to go and they almost always struggling to find spot load team. I spot loaded. I spot loaded when my partner lifted and I spot loaded when a girl from Tauranga who I helped out lifted.

I personally watched you judge Hamishs NZ record bench press through your smart phone filming it same time as reffing it... What's that all about?

What's the goals as far as your lifts go this year bro? Do you have set numbers you'd ideally like to hit or just see how you are progressing later in the year as you get closer to a large comp?

well my next Comp is August 27th which is upanz nationals, unless I skip that and go to Melbourne to do the GPC Aus Comp at PTC which is September 4th which would qualify me for Australian nationals 2017 presuming I got a top 15 total in my weight class. So either or is a while away. Too far away to say but mid 800s would be a good return I think

2/5

squats

to 240x5 (10rpe), 220x5, 220x5

gc bar squats narrow stance

100x3x15

leg extension

3x20

squats meant to be heavy with GC bar but it was being used by the rugby guys. Even though bar belongs to me I be GC and don't bother people if they using. Not really important what do as long as squat hard and my arm feels sweet on anything under 260ish.

then leg press and hack squat both occupied so I jumped on GC bar and reps were all fast and constant tension. Good pump with super narrow stance.

squats are feeling good in the sleeves, feeling strong and stable. Walk outs are on point too. Video below of my 3rd set of squats didn't have camera crew for 240 or first 220 then one thr bruthaz arrived lol
