Why even the need for a table? You said it yourself its just some arbitrary numbers someone came up with and you can already compare between people in different weight classes using gloss score which is what im guessing that table is based off anyway.

Seems a bit contrived and redundant to me but i guess could be used to base goals on or something instead of round numbers like '800 pound squat' etc. Amount of people that seem to be attempting 500 and 600 pound deadlifts in a country that uses SI units (metric) for mass is retarded.

You going for elite or master this comp?

There isn't any need for it. Maccas brought it up a few pages back and I saw this and thought it was more accurate and up to date than the current one people talk about. No it's not based off glossbrener it's from ipf, gpc, wpc, WR and Australian records. But no it doesn't mean anything really you're right, but that's individual I guess. I don't think a record means anything if you lose. But that's just me.

Didnt realise it was based off records. That would make it more relevant i reckon although where you draw the lines is still arbitrary.

Definitely agree with you that its more accurate than the gpc one in terms of what id define as an elite lifter.

Made a big decision today but one that been in my mind for a while actually. I won't be doing gpc nationals. Not happy with the fed. Been bothering me so im just doing it now. Doing upanz nationals in August then do an international comp somewhere to finish off the year.

So this gives me an extra month of training. I'll still start Monday and log my stuff in here.

Got to do what makes you feel comfortable and like you're getting a fair go. Takes away the hassle of thinking about anything other than training and goal setting.

Any insight into what particular issues with the fed? So other lifters can be aware? Maybe push for change .....

Im talking about the high squats and bad calls that have constantly been happening since 2014 when i first joined and probably before that too. I'm talking about the double standards for certain people in qualifying. Not being listened to when I was on the board and witnessing the wasting of federation money on trip to chch which I didnt agree with and not sure anyone who didn't go on the trip would agree with. No one is prepared to have a discussion or debriefing about competitions. Bad calls at the comp and people just want to sweep them under the mat. I rose the issue in the gpc referee chat on Facebook which 20 people are a part of... That resulted in two people leaving the chat because they couldn't handle the facts.

Its not fair and I'm not being apart of it anymore. And now I'm not competing in July anymore I don't really care. Just wanna focus on doing my best in August as a stepping stone to a big comp somewhere. Have to find one to do lol. 18 weeks till the comp now, which is longer than I would like but it is what it is.

Shit that was an unexpected post to read bro. Obviously something I have no idea about but good luck in the UPANZ anyway bro. Hope it goes awesome for you. End of the day you gotta go with what makes you happy and no doubt we'll catch up at a comp someday soon.

Also I forgot to say this yesterday but one other thing that forced me to leave the fed and the board is the lack of discipline of a particular female member, referee even who had knowingly reffed gpc comps intoxicated/under the influence of alcohol. She competed while intoxicated at the mount maunganui 3 lift I helped to organised and I thought it was disgraceful. My fiancé who lifted in that comp as well as the other females in the warm up area could smell it on her from the other side of the gym. I voiced this numerous times and nothing's done about it still. Why? This is someone who is going to ref you and judge your lifts. She should have been immediately expelled from the federation.

25/4

gc bar squats

210x8, 195x8, 180x8

leg press

3x10

leg ext

3x15

I recon bro. let alone a safety issue if she is lifting too. never heard of this. UPANZ should be good with calls mate. they are affiliated with uspa i think which with usapl seem like they are the only legit feds in the states. Got to have some standards mate. good on you
