Thurs 29th

Deadlifts

Barx10, 70x10, 110x5, 150x5, 190x3, 230x3 270x1, 290x1 (9rpe), 310x0, 260x2, 260x2, 260x2

Sumo sldl

60x10, 100x10 4 sets

Hamstring curl

4sets x 10reps

Lat pull down

4sets x 10reps

Shouldn't have gone for the 310. Shit day, shit nutrition etc.. Work on a multi million dollar operation and they give me corned beef for fucking lunch. 290 felt good and thought I had the 310 in me, not tonight. Good to know where I'm at but won't be making a habit of that. Failing a lift ruins my sessions, I can't deal with that shit, managed to put it behind me though and get on with rest of training. Was fucked off before I went to gym anyways. Oh well... Shit happens. Can't wait to get home and back into my gym and supplements etc good food, quality toilet paper and all that shit

Yeah bro was a good session that shoulder one. Yeah it's ok with regards to the squat and deadlift as u said earlier havnt been training as optimally as I would have liked. The strength on those will come back quickly though. Bench going to be the slowest improvement this year I would say so iv got a slingshot on the way and some compression bands for my elbows should be able to help with progress. If I can press 200kg in June I'll be really stoked. But we will see. Thanks for reading my journal bro.

Anyone know where to buy a good power bar like a Texas powerbar or something similar? I asked getstrength but they only sell the eleiko powerbar at the moment and that's $1600.. I'm not spending that on a bar, I'm sure it feels real nice but f*ck that's expensive!

Let me know when you do buy a dl bar be keen to see how you find it.

My home one knurling is rubbish and the two closest gyms bars just as bad. Want to buy a perfect one even if pricy cos should last for ever with anything im ever gonna pull

Or too long and springy for squatting? Dnno i dont bend bars so wouldnt notice haha

Whats the point of training with a springy bar? I know why its easier etc to lift a given weight (because you take the full load of whatever youre lifting higher up closer to lockout) but do they normally use the springy bar in PL comps?

i dont care if its springy or not just figured they would have the best grip, was just first link i clicked on comparing price to that $1600 one, prob rather a regular thickness/length bar for all round use anyway

A powerbar doeant have any whip (spring) a deadlift bar does and is usually longer in length. An Olympic bar has lots of whip. I don't want a deadlift bar I want a powerbar only for reason I want to train with the bar im going to use. The barbells at my gym are garbage, different diameter bars, shit metal, bent slightly and slippery knurling or the other one has knurling that rips your pslns to pieces.

You know when you have a nice bar everything just feels mint. I can tell a cheap bar to a good one right away. Eleiko bar is good but $1600 all I was asking for was knowledge on acquiring one without the flash brand name for a good price that is in nz that I can ship for $30 or go pick up. I wouldn't want to pay more than $800.

Texas Power Bar

If there's one thing that all aspects of Powerlifting needs, regardless of equipped or not, whatever federation, age, gender, weight class, or anything else... its a great bar! Straight and strong, not too springy, not too stiff, and well knurled for a great grip.

Look no further than the original Texas Power Bar. This is not some cheap copy, but the original Texas bar, manufactured by Buddy Capps of Irving Texas.

The standard Texas bar is the best bar for "one bar" training and competition.

Hit up the gpc board, they bought in quite a few oki bars, squat, deadlift and power bars, few of the crew got them, the power bar is $650 so nice to use, not sure if they still have any, but will have a contact, they are the same bars we will be using in comp
