Worlds is in Vegas this year brah

Yeah mate GPC world championships are being held in Las Vegas this year. 12-19th September. I will be lifting on either Tuesday the 15th or Wednesday the 16th depending which weight class I do. I have booked my flights and accom it's all locked in. Yes, Mr Olympia is that same week but I am not staying in Vegas for that.

I believe it will be a good year too bro. I'm putting a big emphasis on recovery this year, trying some new things which aren't new but are new to me. I'll post about this in the journal when the time comes for that. My last prep could have been a lot better as far injuries and niggles go. I had my small lat tear and my elbow tendinitis. I understand that lifting heavy and putting the body under extreme load can result in injuries, sometimes you can't help that. But i will do everthing I can to mitigate the chances of injuries occurring. Last prep I did none of the such. I start my programming for the next 7-8 months on Monday. I am back in country on the 6th feb and we will get serious then.

All of January I have just been training bro with no real structure. I got abit bored of the 5x5 template I had been doing over November/December and was difficult to do properly as im so busy at work. I'm busy all of January till early feb with work too so just getting into the gym and doing something is good enough for me until February. I always tell people to have structured trainings as I think it's important. but im too busy and tired at end of the day/night at moment. I can see the light at end of tunnel in a couple weeks, so knowing there is a plan to be followed from then is good enough for me.

It's ok for the mount prob best gym down there. I got a GC bar, SS bar getting made which I'll take to global and leave there for me to use and whoever else wants to and got a titan GHR to put together when I home but I'll prob keep that in my spare room at home. I don't have a garage at my new place down there otherwise I would just buy all my own stuff and do half my training there and other half at global. I pay $13 pw though for 6 month m/s think it was $12 pw for 12 month contract so I can't complain it's cheap as chips. It's got everything I need just has shit bars, they are rubbish.

Good to be working with you again. It won't take you long to improve.

Sweet bro Chur Chur! These squats are with sleeves not wraps, was thinking of not adding my wraps to my training until a number of weeks out from June (not sure how many weeks out)

or better to have one wrap session a week and one sleeve session a week since I assume I'll be squatting 2xpw. With wraps can add more weight so builds rest of your body more from the load but I havnt used then since October last year and think not using had given benefit.

Thoughts?

Also leg press at this gym in aus is rubbish can only fit 5x20s each side. Rubbish! And 200kg squats were grinders holy shit that last set

I got it buddy...trust me. Yes, you will do both.

I tended to do my 8's in sleeves and 2 of my 5's in wraps. If you do 2 squat sessions a week as I'm planning for most weeks, you'll use wraps for some heavier work.

I recommend wraps for pretty much everyone, purely to handle heavier loads.

The 200x8 should be a lot more comfortable in a few weeks once am home and back into my usual routine.

Just for those of you who follow my journal and wonder why I havnt carried my training through from nationals in October last year (which would have been really ideal). I moved down to mount maunganui late October. I worked away from home all of November into december for 35 days straight with 12 hour shifts, I got home 10th dec by this stage it was xmas and all that shit, I left start of January for another job which is 32 days straight of 12 hour shifts and I am back on the 6th of February for a good while. I had/have acess to a gym over here but equipment is budget and minimal. Nutrition is quite average at the moment I am maintaining weight but really too busy to eat a lot to fuel big workouts. And then 12 hour turn arounds by time I travel to accom and train im only getting about 5 hours sleep per night. So that's what I am referring to when I say havnt been training properly. No excuses though, that's life and it's abit of sacrifice now so I am able to do the things I want to do later in the year.

Tonight is bench day.
