There's nothing at all on GPC fb page about this qualifier meet. Is it like a private meet or something.

Guts about ur injury bro. Should have asked Guru Gyzzbrah to do ur programming instead of old Wookie then you wouldn't have fucked urself up

Gutted,

My take is the shoulder train the day before would have fatigued the whole shoulder leading to a potential rotator cuff injury on the deadlift. A freak occurence.

In addition the lower plates would turn it into a bit of a deficit pull, which stresses the upper and mid back slightly more. That may have had something to do with it.

What is likewise gutting is that was the last heavy shoulders session before the comp, the deload had just started for the body to begin freshening up. Simply unlucky.

Hope it heals soon.

Very informative gzyxbrh br0. What happens in week 34 though?

Realtalk you get injured a lot. Reckon daz's broscience about long term gear use weakening tendons etc has merit? Im starting to think it might

I dnt get injuried a lot.... Had small tear in left rotator cuff, small tear in right pec, neck strain from over head pressing... Those are last injuries iv had they all minor things. Now I got this which also prob be minor I get fixed and be back heavy training in a month. When u lift heavy on a regular basis pushing your body you can't expect just a smooth ride. Rather get 4 minor injuries than tear my bicep in half or need operation on pec cause it's fucked. Never had big injury or an injury that's hung round long time.

I think muscles get stronger faster than tendons and connective tissue this is of course the case this is regardless of gear use or not. Gear use obviously makes this more of a problem.

how can gear use weaken tendons maybz if u don't train if you train you are putting resistance on them forcing them to get stronger the problem is the muscles getting stronger faster than tendons... Or long term gear use a another term for old age? Then yes ur tendons weaken ad u get old.

Did the Comp gotta 725 total and 7/9 lifts which is ok for a lead up comp, made a couple of mistakes, work to be done and improvements to be made. But will be fixed on labour weekend. Straight home to inhale cleaning products and get my wipe on as handing house over tommorow. Smash that out by 7ish then have dinner, have beers, upload videos and write up on comp today.

good fun, feeling good!

The videos are fucked, were filmed on gf shitty iPhone 4 and sent thru to my phone thru viber but I can't save them to my gallery to upload and all blurry.

anyway comp was good! I got a 725 total which is ok cause first comp I really done in few years where my last numbers were 210/160/240. And I wasn't tryna Max just wanted some weight on the bar so I could feel it and listen for calls. No problems as far as that goes.

anyway as far as yday goes...

weigh in was 0930 I weighed in at 105.1kg without my shoes and not much clothes... This is the worst weight I could possibly be because it's right in the middle of the 100-110 class. However the last couple days I hadn't eaten much and hadn't taken my supplements really cause I didn't think I was doing the Nationals anymore due to injury. So I don't think dropping down to the U100kg class is a good idea and found out that after bench and squat you quite fatigued for Deadlift I need my energy and don't want to risk fucking up a 24 hour weight cut... I just don't have any experience doing such a thing.

so after the weigh in I had planned to go eat and get some flat slippers from warehouse but they ran abit of a seminar on what to expect on the day and the rules of the lifts and calls etc. Without sounding like know it all, I knew all of it but it was good to hear it again. So I stayed.

after that straight into squats... There wasn't really a warm up area as such the gym was held in is only small im hoping at nationals they have multiple racks for warm ups. Squats I opened on 160, 2nd 220, 3rd 250... All of these were easy as.

bench I warned up with dumbells, pec deck etc so felt better prepared for this lift than the squats. Opened 160, 2nd 175 flew up, tryed 190 after that was a no lift. I fatigued halfway up the press which I was suprised with but oh well. Was stupid to try that weight yday wheh I pondered it lastnight. But its easy to get caught up in the moment and feel like superman. This isn't what I want to be doing on the 25th

deadlift I warmed up 60, 100, 140 then was time to lift. Opened 260 which I shouldnt of done was a big jump from 140kg warm up. But was easy. 2nd attempt 300 I failed that was a crap set up and start Tryed to recover it but too heavy so no lift. NIKE FREES ARE SHITTEST SHOES FOR DEADLIFTS AND GYM IN GENERAL EVER CREATED!!! Was mad as f*ck after I failed the 2nd attempt deadlift thought no way how can this be iv owned this lift in gym multiple times... if miss my 3rd I'm gonna get under 700 total which would be a disgrace for me personally. Just went to back thought bout lift got mad and went out and pulled it up easy.

so work to be done! Improvements to be made on both form, strategy, nutrition and pre platform prep. The physical work has been done its all mental and being smart from now. I'm not going to get any stronger than I am currently so I work with what I got and get a good result on the 25th.

also just on the comp yday was my first GPC comp I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good people and good atmosphere. Thanks to Leanne and Alex for having it in their gym. court, rua, dan and the others sorry I forgot your names thanks for reffing and putting comp on for us.
