Stuffed around at home on the bench today.

60kg x 10      100kg x 5   120kg x 2   130kg x 2   140kg x 1    150kg x 1    140kg x 3

Slingshot thing  150kg x 5   

Felt good on the 150kg and have a test later this week so will try for 155 but i only have to hit 152.5kg to stay on track so will be happy with either.  Testing deads this week to so hopefully a 255kg pull is on the cards but again 250 being the required target .

Shoulder work

Seated military press 5 x 5 reps at 92.5kg     Last rep was a real fight but i won.

DB side laterals  15kgx 14 controlled     17.5kg x 8      15kg x 10

Rear delt machine    a few sets . Think its pounds so no idea

Ezibar skullcrushers  30kg x 10   40kg x 10   50kg x 10

Ezibar arm curls     1 set of 10 at 50kg    

Got up to 85kg yesterday after eating like a pig all weekend. Looked disgusting and did a bit of cardio . Under 83 again today .   Happiest around 82.

Popped in for another session after my deep tissue massage cause i got a big day tomorrow.

Deadlifts     60kg x 8    100kg x 6   140kg x 4     180kg x 2      210kg x 1     230kg x 1      250kg x 1

 

New pb on the dead which was good.      finished with 2 sets of  bar rows 100kg x 10

Accessory work .Upper body..

Db flat flyes. Machine flyes. Barbell curls. Reverse grip curls , wide grip cable pulldowns. Machine rows . Incline cable bench speed flyes . Hyperextensions. abs on hyper bench and finished with good mornings then went home had a carb load and took 25 selfies to choose two.

Today was a bit of chest at home . Worked up to a couple of 140s then dropped it to 130 and shot out 8 reps. Felt weak from the get go . Going to get back on Smolov squat next week. Im ready to step up to big boy weights. Will continue running my bench as a 5 x 5 and 5 x 2 over 2 weekly workouts. Deads will be once a week.

Today I started Smolov . Setting my 1rep max at 200 instead of 215 as ive learnt my lesson from past programs starting to high. So today was 140kg x 4 sets of 9. Weight was easy but its been a while since I've had a lower back pump which I did after the 4th set.

Mean. Looking forward to how you go.

 

What are you gonna do for your other lifts?

Yeah looking forward to it. I know its hard yakka though. Benching will be twice a week at 5x 5 and a 5x2 . Deads just once and sticking between 60 and 80% for the duration of Smolov. Back ill break down into 2 sessions to be done after 2 of the squat days and will just be two excercises for reps at lighter weight . Shoulders will be as is and that should give me two to three rest days . Basically its Smolov first, bench second Back and shoulders third if im feeling good.

Seated military press. 95kg x5 x5 x5 x5 x4 failed last rep .

Did some chest supported rows and cable rows to finish.

thats pretty strong military press

 

Thanks bro.   I should point out i do it in a power cage on a seat that finishes below my neck so i can tilt my head backward slightly like in a standing press and i only press from chin to lockout above head , not down to my chest . So not 100% range of motion but close

Smolov squat. Week 1 day 3

160kg x 7 sets of 5 Probably the easiest day so far but last reps was fatiguing. Trained at Snap Palmy.

Did some bench on a horrible bench press . 100kg x 10 120kg x 7 125kgx 2 swts of 5 100kg x 10

Not sure if unusually weak or if it was the bench but it felt hideous. Bar spacings were different so couldnt find my groove. Everything felt wrong .

Smolov squat. Week 1 day 4.

My legs hate my guts. 170kg x 10 sets of 3 . First 5 sets beltless. Trained at Snap in Palmy again and had to rush through sets cause I felt eyes staring me out to get on the rack. Turns out they just wanted to do pullups .

Last 2 sets felt like they had an extra 40 kg on . Have found hunger is well down since starting this but forcing it down and extra weight gain shakes. Doing a heap of glute and flexor stretching. Also just got the Prosupps Crash to try to help with a deep sleep so looking forward to trying it

Lol yeah i know ,   Its a sleep and recovery powder you mix with water before bed. Has the usual ZMA ingredients and Phenibut, L Tryptophan and Valerian root. I dont actualy know what any of them do but i was using the Arnold iron dream cause i was waking about 3 times a night and it made me sleep right through and felt awesome in the morning. You have the craziest dreams on it though like real vivid . Crash is supposed to be better and help induce a deep REM sleep aswell.

Bro slightly off subject... you ever read about lucid dreaming? 

I was in Thailand in May bro and having a few drinks with my mate from Sydney who is a Doctor and he was telling me bout lucid dreaming... I never heard of ot before that and thought he was bullshittin me but f*ck it works... Keep a dream journal and talk yourself to sleep every night... My line was "i will be awake in my dream" and just repeat the f*ck out of that in your head till you fall asleep within a week I was able to be in control of my dreams so normally when u dream you go with flow but you can decide if u want to fly and it actually feels like you are flying or doing whatever you do... Closet thing you ever gonna get to reality. The dreams are so vivid and f*ck it's amazing iv stopped now cause u gotta have a clear mind and I'm busy organising my next job and training and moving house etc and the bullshit wheel of life ya know... But bro def worth a try if u like dreams which you said you having crazy dreams now u can control them.

ppl prob think I'm some acid fiend saying all that lol but it's true even google it. Buzzy as shit.

Never heard of that bro but that sounds trippy as. I think ill have to give it a try .  Ill probably start preferring to live in dream land than in reality lol. Tried the Crash powder last night and its the same as the Iron Dream one. Freakish dreams and i woke up feeling fully recovered . Will need to test it over a week to see for sure though.

Woke up feeling awesome today . Thought id get in an upper body sesh since ive been doing not a lot other than squats the last week.

Deads i worked up to a single at 230kg which felt hard as.

Bench was   60kg x 10      100kg x 8    120kg x 10    100kg x 8   60kg x 20    short rest periods

Db rows 30kg x 1 set of 10

Cable pulldowns superset with machine rows x 2 overhand and neutral grip x 2 sets

Bar rows 60kg x 30 reps

Just a laxing workout really as week 2 of Smolov starts tomorrow so dont wanna tax the back in any way . Probably should have stopped deads at 200 but feel good .  Will do shoulders and arms Sunday
