Solid deadlifts, looked smooth and tight, must be those newly found bbc genetics kicking in. 

 

But f*ck, from this angle it looked like you were millimeters off destroying your toes.

I had about an inch gap between plates and toes. If your form is so shit you shift that much you deserve to have your toes squashed.

 

So last night, I went to bed at 3pm after feeling tired and sore with no appetite all day. Only had like 2000 calories which is half my daily intake. While sleeping, I developed a fever yet I was still feeling cold. My joints, muscles and bones were all shooting with pain. It's funny how I must've caught the bug on Thursday or earlier which was when I first noticed the cough, then on Friday my joints started hurting. Then it took until yesterday for the symptoms of the flu to fully arrive. When I woke up this morning at 2am, I was feeling better although still tired and a little sore. Still have a wet cough. Skipped training today and won't probably go back to gym until Thursday.

First day back in gym since last Saturday. Went to bed last night and couldn't sleep at all because I was coughing every other minute. Ended up falling asleep at 3am and not waking up to my alarm at 6am. I was supposed to start work at 7am but didn't get there until nearly 8.

Apart from cough, all other symptoms are gone so I think the infection's been overcome and the body's still getting rid of all the pus left over.

Today I did deload squat since I didn't do squats on Monday so that I don't lose the groove.

LOL most of them are Destiny Church members. One of them is the son of the pastor. They don't bug me though so IDGAF

Yeah I like sumo. Way less stress on my lower back and enables me to use my legs more. Yeah I will lift sumo when competing too.

Yesterday I went to expo and tried out the bodyweight bench for reps challenge. Did 24 reps with 90kgs.

87.5kg bodyweight. Felt tired as after work so had a 3 hour nap before going to gym and I didn't feel strong at all. I was intending to work up to 220kg and get 3 reps plus on that but wasn't going to happen today. Form felt off too. Didn't feel stable at all. I'm not too worried though cos I know my strength comes and goes depending on my condition. In February, I failed a 200kg squat then smashed a 230 two weeks later.

The last set was a grind but still got the work done. Biceps are pretty sore from squats yesterday. Used my new wrist wraps today. They're so much stiffer than my old ones, made my wrists stay completely straight which made the first two sets feel awkward and not on groove

Nathan was doing his sets on 130 and forgot to take his weights off for my set. Got the weight unracked and thought it felt a bit heavier but still got the 5 reps out. I stopped at 5 sets though because my biceps were killing me when lowering the weight. Definitely felt stronger than Tuesday though cos I was struggling to do 3 reps with 130.

Got a vid of the 240 and will upload when back home on wifi. Pretty fun session today training with Kalib Nathan and Rua at Nathans garage. I was up for a portion of last night coughing again so still not 100%.

Gpc Auckland bench wars next Saturday so I think I'll go up to a 145 paused on Monday which is my planned opener. Thinking 145 then either 150 or 152.5 for second attempt, then 155 or 157.5 for third attempt depending on speed of previous attempt. I'm going to be more conservative than I have been in the past and just try to get all 3 attempts in.

88kgs bodyweight. Upper back was limiting factor on front squats. Thoracic spine wasn't strong enough to hold the weight and was keeling over. It was my first time doing fronts fresh without doing back squats first. I was pretty happy with how easy 180kg was. My quads felt easy as pushing the weight up, if my upper back was stronger I think I could've done 5+ reps.

Think I'll do front squats before deadlifts on Thursdays and work up to a heavy triple to build up my upper back strength which I believe carries over to my deadlift. When deadlifting max attempts, I've found that my upper back will cave over which then makes me lose tightness in my core then my lumbar back follows suit and that's how I've gotten injured.

first rep looked easy. As you say if you sort your upper back out your legs would be good for 200kg.

200kg front squat raw is pretty elite bro.

 

How is your back feeling after those SLDL? looks like your looker back is rounding a bit at the bottom of the movement.

So fucking pissed off about getting sick again. 145 moved at decent speed for my condition so hopefully I get better by Saturday and I'll open on 145
