Agreed.. you looked stunning! And congrats on a great result -- nevermind that you were the only one in your class, you held yourself up there beautifully

I heard ppl shouting out your name at the pre-judging, but I think I recognised you from your abs/thigh pose first ;)

Look forward to seeing you in more comps! clap.gifclap.gif

Awww thanks.

And yes that was my Boy Friend I did couples with, was so proud of him, I think he looked amazing (but I would) he was origionally going to enter Nov Tall Ath. but 3 weeks out he went Nov Tall Phy. so I think he did really well and he's now working on the size he was lacking against the other two in his class - I think it was a close call and size won out on the day, which after all we know judging is a fine art and now we both have the experience under our belts and can use this as a measering stick for the next time.

As for my sparkles - cheapy braclete from the mall, funny thing is it must have really caught the light cuase so many people have commented on it.

NORMAL NORMAL I'M SO NORMAL!!!

So now that things are back to normal... don't you hate when people talk about normal? Well I do, people at work are asking if I'm going to eat normal food now and look normal - for goodness sake people I hardly look like a freak! YOU JUST WAIT TILL NATS! And as for my food what could be more normal? Eggs, Chick, green Veg ... as apposed to fried rubbish food and chips and cakes. Some people will just not learn to shut up. But I just don't care as much any more! I just say 'This is normal, this if how I like to look and this is what I have to eat to look that way'

Normal for me is just getting back to routine and fitting work in around it!

I've not been in the gym yet, we are taking a full 5 days off from gym (although going on morning walks to keep up routine) and then 2 days cardio only, then 1 off, THEN YEAH back into it! I miss the gym waaaahh booohoo  what a sook.

As for food, well I'm getting my rice crackers and protien bars and cereal in before the week is up and letting my body replenish itself, but sooo not going over board still sticking to basic 6 meal day plan, just allowing process things in. I have a weight that I will not go over now and that shall remain my 'off season weight' (really can't call 1 week and then back into training OS) so that it is not such a mission to scrape back into shape! Even after the show I didn't go all out - I just had sushi and rice crackers oh and banana Chips while carbing up but it's such a big day and my appitite had shrunk some what. BUT today man am I hungry and wanting to be a piggy! I'm not going to give in too much!

These are so the worst pics ever - my mum took them and well nuff said, I'm still waiting on the pics we had done to arrive.

Oh well I got up there and did it, now to improve and do it again better!

Thats such a great attitude towards the post comp dieting thumb.gif

You hear too many stories about the blowout ppl have after their contests - the all day binges, gaining lots of weight etc. Its refreshing to see someone easing back into their "healthy/normal" routine in regards to training & diet

You have got some great muscle there - you should definitely look at competing in the physique class! If you grow too much more and continue to compete in Figure you'll be penalised for your size.

I don't plan on 'growing' much more, but working on bring up areas that are lacking like my legs. Preferring to stay lean and build on what I have. You never know I may train for physique class one day but it's not there yet. Rather I plan on refining and defining.

So how did you do Talluahangie, and where are the pics you promised? :P Sure you would have done great so share the news!

Back on plan today with diet. Although I have been experiencing really intense cramps in both of my thighs while going for morning walks. :( The pain is so full on it's hard to walk. Think the lack of sodium has finally taken it's toll. Had banana yesterday for potassium content, started back on the Multi Vits and will add some sea salt to food for a few days to see if that fixes the issue. Anyone got this after comp? Any other ideas of suggestions.

Back into the gym for cardio tomorrow morning - will Bike and hope like heck I don't get cramping.

Oh and thanks everyone for such neat comments and support. :)

Here are some pics taken at the hotel between pre-judging and evening show. Not anonymous now as some folks saw me compete last weekend so no need to hide my face eh? (even if it's a tired drawn looking face, not to mention my hair was flat)

Was quite hard going, was really shattered from the morning show, but still excited and had eaten a small amount of food so that was sitting not so well - I wish I had pumped up a little also - but you live and learn.

SO yesterday I began a post - about how POST COMP SUCKS! And it does but now I'm feeling back on track and life is good.

Thoughts from yesterday:

"Ok – so post comp does suck!

I was pretty average with my food last week, had more carbs than normal and indulged in snaking when I felt like it: Things like Dried fruit, fruit, rice wafers, protein bars and sushi and breakfast cereal were the main culprits, tried to get it all out of my system this weekend just been, and now I don’t look like that girl on the stage less than 2 weeks ago!"

Up until today my Quads have been cramping very badly - very painful and stopped me doing cardio or training, which left me feeling rather lost. But I've been replacing fluid, taking vitamins, magnesium and potassium and things are coming right. Out of all the websites and stories I've read on Post Comp (ie depression, over eating etc) I never once read about chronic cramping causes by the dehydration process lasting more than 1 or 2 days. But I have now learnt, rest is good, and to replace what I took out of my body!

DAMAGE CONTROL: I have a new training program, and am back on diet - It feels good to be back! It'll feel even better as the weeks go on and I build back some muscle and loose last weeks extras I put on! :pfft:

I suffered quite badly from the post comp blues... It took me nearly 2 weeks to get over it all! quote]

That really sucks! But it's part of the game isn't it? How are you doing now and what did you do to get over Post comp blues?

There are so many websites, forums and blogs out there that warn about the posibility of 'Post Comp Blues' but everyone's different and all the reading and advice can only prepare you for the possiblities. This sport is very much a mental game.

I'm really keen to hear how you did tallulahangie if you want to share that is ... and any photos etc would be really cool.

But glad to see you back here posting on the forum!

  • 2 weeks later...

Still here still training still eating opps ... maybe eating not so good

I guess my next aim is Nationals in October so that gives me just under 20 weeks to go.

This week is clean up week for the diet. Stop snacking, no extra carbs, 6 meals per day.

Next week I will start recording my meals, so I can get an honest look at what I'm eating.

The following week I will track my meals (cals/ Pro / carbs / fats) ratio to loose apprx 1 kg every 2 weeks so I can promote muscle growth. This will be an achievable target and should not have any problems what so ever with hitting comp weight and having extra muscle.

Not sure if I want to start another journal - clean start or continue with this on - maybe at 12 weeks out or something (12 wks is the magic time isn't it?) he he :pfft: :P

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally got some good pics from on stage - only 6 or so weeks after the comp, but never mind - thought I'd post em anyway, plus it's motivation to work hard to do better for the next comp.

New diet (plan coming) and training program started on Sunday. And guess what, it involves rest days!!!?!! I'd all but forgoten what they were ... days to recover and grow, very important pre-competition phase I've been told, will help me get big and strong so when I diet down again I will like the package I see and will have more muscle and less Body Fat.

This time I'm doing what I'm told!
