girlie deadlifts

Recommended Posts

Girlie question - if I want to add either straight-leg/normal deads on an upper body day (say 4x 8?) how many times a week can I do it?? 've read only once, but I'd like to do twice - 2x pump, 2x upper a week and maIybe swap one session out for boxfit - I'm pretty happy with me legs but wanna work upper more (shoulders/back) thoughts??

You just gotta be careful with deadlifts as they can really fry your CNS once the weights start getting relatively heavy. Straight legged deadlifts aren't as bad, since you can't handle as much weight. Twice a week at 8RMs shouldn't be too bad though.

You could do heavy deadlifts 3 reps to 8 reps one day of the week and two or three days later do stiff legged deadlifts 8 reps to 12 reps. Get the best of both worlds, strength and hypertrophy. And that wouldn't be too harsh on your neural system either.

I'd agree with Tom, heavy deads tend to fry your CNS if you do em too often... His suggestion of hitting em twice a week low reps/high weight, high weight/low weight would work well...

Have you considered rack-pulls for upper body (shoulders, traps, back)..?

Righto, straight legged one day and normal another - I can do that, obviously they arent too heavy (yet!) as the biggest barbell already put together is the girlie gym is 30kg......but hey being in the womens gym when they do curls with 2kgs what can I expect!!! I can put a bar together heavier tho once I need to but tbh I'm a little self-conscious......!!!!

its Les Mill city - girls gym upstairs - too scared to go into boys gym on my own - they might get hungry and try to eat me - half of them look like they just had a small child for dinner!!!

Im close friends with a guy that goes to that gym, works at NZ muscle and biggest golfer in NZ. Im sure he wouldnt try to eat you, as long as you dont look like a Burger Fuel burger, of which he ate 5 in one hour lol.
