OK, time to start a journal.

The motivation's been waning a bit lately, so this should kickstart things... My goal for the past 6 months have been to put on some decent size, so I'm now looking to lose some bodyfat and letting my muscles see the light of day :pfft: Crap, that means I'll be starting cardio and I f**king hate cardio :x

So this'll be for my workouts, prolly random diet entries and a place to vent. sweet.

Oh, and hell no there'll be no pics :pfft:

Pseudo: :shock: It was the thought of the warmer weather that got me going - knowing that I wont be able to hide in my baggy sweats and baggy shirts anymore is what's getting ma ass in the gym! :pfft:

Deegee: Thanks! Yeah, I find cardio a bore at the gym so I'll be doing lots outside. I'm a big fan of sprints, so if you see some weirdo sprinting for their life at some park somewhere that'll prolly be me wave2hw.gif

My eating's been shit lately - healthy, but TOO MUCH of it, and thats just as bad as eating crap food I spose :roll:

I've decided not to count cals at this stage, jus more or less watching my portion sizes (a la BFL). If I find I plateau then I'll prolly start getting more anal about what Im eating. But for now, sall good :D

Hey EU, sorry I should've explained my abbreviations... SS = steady state - just the low intensity fluff. Last night was just a power walk around the neighbourhood and it was good! (Good in the sense that I finished it :pfft: ). I'll be starting my sprints on Tuesday :jive:

As for today:

Training: off

Cardio: off

Diet: on

Quads tomorrow... :dancing:

Good to see a journal on here.

I hate cardio just as much as any one else on here, I found varying my cardio sessions every time kept it interesting.

Also if your inclined towards sport, take up something like boxing, 2 sessions a week are awesome to burn loads of calories and get fit (And learn some kick -arse technique :) )

Do you compete in bb or physique ?

This workout was retarded. Volume was stupid. I was training at a friend's gym for convenience today and it sucked - there was something about ppl around me mucking around - some even sitting on the benches watching the TVs that put me off... :madman: zero motivation, and my lifts showed this :x

Thanks for stopping by VV - Yeah, I joined a boxing gym a while back - am still paying the membership fees, but haven't been in a loooong time so I might head in sometime this week. Other than that, I'll just be sticking with my 2 x SS cardio sessions and 2 x HIIT sprints. If I clean my diet up even more maybe I can cut these sessions down even more :pray:

And I don't compete. Always been a fan of BB... maybe late next year :D

Pseudo, this site is great for stretches... I do a variety of the lower body dynamic stretches - n just mix it up every now and then:

:pfft: Deegee.. thats why I always have my ipod - sometimes I even mute the music for a bit and just listen to the guys in the weights room congratulating themselves on how they all look an' all :roll:

Busy with my course and work and just didn't have the energy for the gym tonight, cut down on the carb intake to compensate for this though.

Weight: 77kg. Scales suck.

Had BF tested last week (18%) but I don't put much stock into BF tests though (got it tested out of curiosity). tend to rely more on how my clothes fit and the mirror. Might get out the measuring tape sometime this week and do some measurements though

My rep ranges are supposed to be 5x5 for the heavy sets and 3x8-10 for the lighter ones (not incl warmup sets) but I try to push myself to do one last rep, then one more, then one more after that... you know how it is no.gif This might be stuffing me up though - so I'll try to stick to the proper set/rep scheme next time. Weight prolly isn't heavy enough if I can do more than 5-6 reps :grin:

its good to push yourself, but if your consistently pushing yourself to failure, bad things happen after a little while... ask my poor elbows.

Yeah thats true. I used to have a prob with overtraining where progress just stalled and I was going nowhere. Once I set specific set/rep schemes and went heavier instead of more reps... huge difference.

Check out some of the powerlifting chicks.. theyre great motivation !

I see girls using WSB routines and weighing in at 60kg , squatting 160kg, deadlifting 180kg and benching 100kg !!! .. and theyre amateurs.

Love this!! :clap: I gots mad respect for female powerlifters - I saw a DVD a while ago of a powerlifting meet with girls (and guys lol) half my size lifting 3+ times their bodyweight... and theres a heavy lifting compilation on this site somewhere that helped me increase my deadlift lol! Amazing what a bit of inspiration n motivation can do :nod:

How important do you think a training partner is VV? I've always trained by myself and the powerrack is my best friend when it comes to trying a new weight - but sometimes I think progress is alot slower if you're doing it on your own 'cos you don't have that 'backup' of someone watching over you "just in case" shrug.gif
