Nick was really impressive that day. The previous rep he did basically a speed rep with 355 and decided against doing 370 because that was his target for the following week at the comp. Next thing we were deadlifting in a sandpit with a wet bar.

I'm encouraging Nick to continue on an hit the 380kg+ dead I know he's capable of. Perhaps in 2012.

Pomana was exceptional. Fantastic lifter.

Oh man!!! John I'm not worthy to be this thread

Other guys before me:

- Pomana Brothers - nuff said

- Bill Henderson - 322.5kg DL at 110kg (my favourite sumo deadlifter)

- Leighton Best - 227.5kg Bench at 90kg or 82.5kg (?)

- Steve Varga - 350kg squat at 110kg

- Neil Lauaki - 900ish total at SHW

- Jono Macfarlane - 340kg Squat at under 24 - Commonwealth Record

- Richie Paterson - 150kg snatch, 193kg cj at 85kg

- Nigel Avery - 175kg snatch, 225kg cj at 128kg BW

- Precious Mackenzie - all-time legend

- Nick Hansen - SM monster!!!

I'm sure there are a heap more lifters that others can remember. But one of the best lifts I saw in real life, was Derek Pomana speed deadlifting 300kg in the warm up room  THE heaviest and fastest deadlift I've ever seen!!!!

TEAM DJ WOOT WOOT!!!!

Danny, trust me bro you are an elite! Doubt that there are many in the country that come close to what you achieve on the PL platform, the OL platform and if you decide to commit to...SM stage!

Also, Big John I have a story that confirms Dannys story about DP's speed deadlifts during his warmup. In Timaru 2004 his last warmup was 315...if you blinked you missed it. I remember looking at PT when he did it and saying...FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRK
