solo shirt training videos

im looking at doing my first shirt stuff today - training solo. Its not ideal, but possible. came across this great video train on fitting and lifting in the shirt solo. just keep following the series, there are 6 vids.

also OB, Tonka, steak etc may have some tips to add?

Be careful bro. Note the last part of the first video..."any advice you found here is at your own risk". Ideally you want to be in power rack and have the supports setup incase the unthinkable happens. If the shirt isnt on properly, it could offset the groove of the shirt so that during either the eccentric OR concentric it may want to head towards your tummy, head back towards your throat/head or where you want it, around the chest region. If you can bro, get some helper(s).

Mike Tuscherer who is doing this vid has trained on his own for a very longtime and is well versed in using gear (+hes a bloody machine RAW as well). People need to know that his experience and knowledge in the shirts is extensive, so he will know what to expect if things are going to go south. Also, when he trains at home (by himself) he is in a power rack with all the the safety supports set in place.

Id have to agree with Tonkas caution too. use a powercage and set the pins as safetys (not always an exact height I know but you will need some form of "catcher") as its afreaky experience trying to press any form of decent weight off your throat :roll: I can tell you that from experience.

It really good if you can have someone help you with the shirt too making it a whole heap easier to get it on and into position. Often its hard even getting the arm seams in the right place by yourself and this is critical....and try pulling it down yourself...too hard bro. You need someone there to bury an elbow in it and lean in hard to help it seat right.

Welcome to a whole new world of pain and frustration to start with but stick with it and Im sure you'll love lifting in the gear. Its a long learning curve but when you master it (as Im yet to do :roll: ) you be sweet.
