when it comes to self defence just do what ever it takes kick them in the balls, ,throw them through the window, headbutts and uppercuts, bodyslams, bottles lol no training just staight ruthless when it is required and save your energy for your pwrbuilding :pfft:

I havent been put on winter hours but quiet bars are no fun to work at Ill hit my mate up about where he works hes always hounding me to work there.....

theres a good c*nt on this forum who i became friends with a few years ago and i went to shooting range in auckland city with him... he bought along a few pistols one was this big silver c*nt called a desert eagle.... Sambo and Krav Maga could also be of good (krav maga vs weapon wielders for example)

we have this massive russian dude at judo blackbelt at sambo and judo, guy comes up with insane submissions, never fun to spar with when standing or on the gorund

bro. if your on cycle..go crazy..I wouldnt worry to much about energy and strength levels...

Working the door in London/Bristol/Newcastle/Glasgow...British laws state that if you attacked with a weapon in a bar whilst on duty you can arm yourself as well...but as soon as the attacker drops the weapon then you have to do the same...

Australian law seems to be that you are supposed to lie on the ground and get kicked until the assailant gets tired. I used to run away from them a little bit so they got tired quicker and the kicks didn't hurt as much!

Ideally I just want to do something on my off day (wed) Just enough to learn the basics so if I had to I can defend myself and hurt someone.

Specter, pwrbuilding it's the new bodybuilding lol

Buy a gun then u have all the defense u need and no worries re lack of training!

Probably had 4 incidents during my years working on the door...1 of them went to court...the 3 others the cops turned a blind eye to it and let us deal with it because they had bigger shit to deal with....I carried a heavy duty mag light with me most of the time...works great as a club..lol

Probably a bit of truth in that. A lot of it has to do with your confidence as well. I mean if you get agitated and seem nervous when someone puts it on you then they'll keep on. I always find staying calm and being confident helps a lot. Mind you no one really picks on me here, when I am in NZ its a bit different. Lots of chips on everyones shoulders there lol

An its never the big dudes that cause the problems its the 75 kg ramy types who think since they have a 6 pack they can fight. Nothing better than dragging them away by their hair kicking and screaming.

If you want to focus on smashing the other guy into a hospital ward, why not look up the Todd Group? Close Quarter Combat.

A lot of 'fight' training places teach what I call 'turn based' fighting. where you attack, then avoid and defend, while he attacks. f*ck that, you need to learn to be a train, and go through them, not stopping until they cant go on, or you are unable to continue.

Fighting aint chess. Its all about attacking continuously.

Gross motor skills, and doesnt f*ck with the gym sessions. I have done years of it, and love it.

But, as HarryB said, confidence is a big factor in avoiding confrontations. Being calm, with a sense of purpose. Body size is f*ck all, if you look out of your depth.

Fake it till you make it, if you don't have it.

but, retards are everywhere, and when drunk, they will target anyone.

All training has its strengths and weaknesses. The only thing I dislike about BJJ, is that if you take them to the ground, and they have a mate, you can expect a head kicking.
