or am i over-training

If your over training, your not eating enough :pfft: (Jay Cutler)

not srs.

But uh, on a srs note: My trainings last anywhere from 1hr for rehab/mob days to 2 -2.5hrs for some harder sheiko days. All depends on peoples cycles/routines and intensity.

Upper body sessions: under 45mins

Quads: 15-20min max

Ham/delts: 45-50mins

Others may beg to differ but to me time doesnt mean anything, you'll see guys bragging about how long they train etc.... if you train balls to the wall anything under an hr is realistic..

2 hrs to work 2 bodyparts? drop the rest time, increase the intensity, train more days a week.

Usually if you have to ask this question you already know the answer.

It will depend on your goals of course. If you want to be fit, lean and have an athletic muscular physique, you are right in the zone now mate :)

If you want to be fit and healthy but have a larger muscular physique. You need to decrease the training time to 1hr max and increase the intensity right off the scale with minimal rest periods.

Basically during intense training your body releases hormones such as cortisol into your body which break down and clear away damaged muscle tissue. the longer you train the more of this is released into your body and after 45mins on intense training you end up having too much of this running around trying to deal with the damage you are doing and it can have a negative impact on how much quality gains you can achieve from your workouts.

i try get get 90sec rest in between sets, between exercises varies between 2-3mins is this okay ? or between exercises should i stick with 90sec rest aswell.

i usually do 5 sets for first 2 exercises, 4 sets for the next 2 and my last exercise i do 3 sets or depends on how im feeling, ill do 4. roughly 21-22 sets alltogether for each muscle group, 42-44 sets per session (2 muscle groups), which is already 66mins of waiting time between each set, plus the time to actually do the exercise 30sec-45 (depending on how fast you rep) which equals to roughly 30mins of performing your exercises = 90-100mins total gym session.

that is if i wait 90sec between each set AND exercise. if i add my abs will be nearly 2hours XD

correct me if im wrong i rushed thru the calculations but this is exactly my workout, 90-100mins

Sounds like a lot of work. You would probably enjoy the gym more if you were there for less time. Thus making you have a more positive attitude into smashing your muscles.

Write down what you're doing for 1 day, for example.

Chest, Triceps (a common day for someone)

Bench press 5 x 8

Incline D Press 4 x 8

(weighted) Dips 4 x 8

Tricep Pull Down 3 x 8

Tricep Kick backs 3 x 8

Id say that would be enough and with 90 seconds to 120 seconds rest. You should accomplish that within the hour.

Lol at the "just deal with it" lololololol

for me about 1-1 and a half hours including warm up and cardio after it.

actual resistance work sets 45-50 minutes MAX, after that I cant do shit.

Leg days is usually 50 minutes and no run, just a slow and wobbly walk home :S

Experiment with short rest time between sets and very little rest times between exercises, MUCH more intense workout.

If you are trying to build strength then perhaps longer rest periods would be best. They say that for strength exercises the body needs 3-5 mins to recover but I feel that anything over 2 or 3 even for strength is too much if your a somewhat 'trained athlete'.

You'd have to ask the experienced PLrs here regarding overtraining if thats the case.

mine are 45-60 min max.

One thing I have found helpful is training abs in the morning separately and workout in evening after work. Most of the stuff you need to train abs can be done at home with a few inexpensive items such as swiss ball, med balls etc. The good thing about training abs in the morning is it boosts heart rate and metabolism for the morning and also cuts down total time at the gym later on.

If you can't get through all you want to in 60min you could look at a 5 day split...
