So Bobsta, you wanted an ab off?

For the record, anyone who is working to change the shape of their body through training and nutrition is a bodybuilder in my view. Doesn't matter whether they're trying to get bigger or smaller - we welcome all types of bodybuilders here. Oh yeah, and those powerlifting chaps are all right too. :D

Your gonna start an argument again ....

I would class as a "weight trainer" - a body builder is someone (man/woman) that makes it to the stage IMO :P - No offense JR ... get up on stage (one without a pole  ) and your it. In the meantime your just a ripped as weight trainer  :D

agree - but to be fair - I know and have known a ot of guys in the sport that front up to shows in the open grade that would not come close to have JRs conditioning.

I personally don't care if he posts his pics up on a BB'r site - Body builder may be not but impressive, yes he is  Alot of members post their pics on NZBB, I admire them as it is a courageous thing to put yourself out there like that. But it serves as good motivation for us all - (even us old school belt bag toting, pyjama pant wearing grunters  ) ..

.... I'm not really that bad!

Lol why does everyone argue constantly about everything on this forum, everyone needs to chill.

I am "building my body" therefor i consider myself a "bodybuilder" weather i compete or not, and its not everyones goal to be a huge mass monster body builder like Jay Cutler, yet we are still classed as bodybuilders IMO.

Bodybuilding is a sport. You can not be part of the sport unless you compete in the sport. I kick a soccer ball around. Doesn't make me a soccer player.

This ties in with a discussion that's been started here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11058 Maybe add your opinions fellas

For the record I don't consider bodybuilding a sport, there's no direct physical/skillful competition or objective criteria. But that just opens a whole new bag of worms :pfft:

"Power Building" Develops The Rock-Hard Muscle That Gets Attention

Powerlifters compete in the squat, bench press and deadlift.

And they get big and muscular because they’re strong. Again, like I mentioned earlier… if you start lifting more weight than you usually do… your body must adapt in order to handle that weight.

It does that by growing bigger and stronger.

If you don’t get ANYTHING else at all from this letter, just remember that… because that alone will give you more results than anything else you do!

Bodybuilders… on the other hand… generally train for muscle growth and for aesthetics or looks. Not all bodybuilders are as strong as they look. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with that.

But if you’re like me… you probably want to have strength… as well as the lean, muscular look.

And believe me, you can. Not only is it possible, strength and size go hand-in-hand!

If you try to get stronger… each and every week… you’re GOING to get more muscular. It’s just a fact.

So if you’re looking to gain muscle as well as strength… you need to start focusing on lifting more weight. I dare you to find a guy who bench presses 400 pounds that doesn’t have a powerhouse body to match.
