Quick update. I benched 87.5kg today (touch n go). We decided to implement touch and go reps every second workout with benching so I can start handling heavier weights.

Backoff sets were 70kg x 5; first rep holding for 2 seconds on chest and the rest touch n go. They were easy. It was nice to have 70kg feel easy again!

I am pretty pleased with myself tonight; I squatted 120kg totally raw (without belt). This is the most I've squatted without a belt so far!

I had a really tiring day on Sunday. I played a 90 minute soccer game, then went to my nieces 8th birthday party where I skated on my rollerskates for 2 hours! It was so much fun, I need to do this more often. I have my own roller skates so I might as well. It didn't even feel like cardio at all.

and where were you on saturday miss? :?

At the movies with my niece :pfft:

I decided against competing as I didn't realise it was going to cost so much to enter with joining the association and paying the entry fee. For some reason I thought I wouldn't have to join the association. :?

Im hearin ya...we have lost a couple of lifters due to the fees etc...anyhoo hope alls well 8)

May is a terrible time of year for me to spend money. ALL the big bills are due then (all insurances, WOF, rego, service etc) and had it been any other time it would have been okay. I'll look for a novice comp later on in the year methinks.

Woot! I squatted 125kg tonight without the belt \:D/ I was tempted to throw on the belt and see if I could get to 140kg but I just cut it there.

I was also pretty pleased with my benching tonight. I benched 72.5kg x 3 for 8 sets. First rep was paused for about 2 seconds on the chest and the rest were either touch n go or a quick pause, prob 1/2 second.

I am starting to doubt my ability to bench 100kg. I might be able to do it touch n go, but I think with a pause (like in competition) it might just be a bit too hard. I suppose touch n go is good enough though! 8)

Tried 130kg but lost confidence about 3/4 of the way down and dumped it on the bars. It's the goal for next week. I'm curious to know what my squat is now WITH the belt -- mebbe 140kg?

Got some good cardio training at soccer tonight. I love it during soccer season cos I don't do cardio on purpose :D

Wow :shock: without belt. That's awesome....I can't even squat near that fully equipped :lol: Impressive :clap:
