fair enough, must be Back tomorrow then ay, I got Back in about 1hr am going to try deadlifts with arms inside the legs and see how it feels have you tried this way before?

Yeah it is back tomorrow night. I have done deadlifts like that I found I was stronger but I switched to conventional because I wanted a longer pulling movement. I mean looking for development not just maximum poundage. But you are taller than I am (yeah everyone is I know lol) so maybe sumo will still hit your back hard.

Quick back workout last night.

Parallel grip chins 4 sets, 20k for as many as possible ( 4-6) then drop the db and do bw for as many as possible (3-5)

Straight arm rope pulldowns 4 sets of 12-15

Tbar rows 1p, 2.5p, 4p, 5.5p/ 6 reps each, 7p/5, 5p/11

Hammer strength seated rows 2pps, 3pps, 4.5pps, 4.5pps/ 8-10 reps each

Reverse grip pulldowns 4 sets of 8-10 reps.

Done.

Have you booked those flights we talked about, you know one seat SYD-AKLD, two seats AKLD-SYD.....so you can sit next to your trophy! :grin:

Thought I might bulk up for it though, no rhyme or reason. Just eat everything and aim for 120-125. Possibly take 4-5gms of gear a week and just see what happens.

Might make it hard to drop back in time for the class but if I am lucky I should make a gain of around 1 or 2 kilos of muscle. (so worth it!)

40 now so I have decided to start becoming the serious old man I know I can be.

Trained chest and biceps on sunday.

Bench press bar, 40k, 60k, 80k, 100k, 120k, 140k, 160k/3 reps each

180k/2 (yay! been a while since I benched 4plates)

140k/10 drop to 100k/6 drop to 60k/9

Incline bb press 60k, 80k, 100k/12 reps each

120k/8, 140k/5, 100k/12

Incline flyes 3 sets of 10-12

Cable crossovers 3 sets of 12-15

Chest was fried.

Did 2 exercises for biceps 4 sets each some drop sets etc etc

Not a bad workout for an old guy.

Did legs last night, kept it short and didn't push too hard, working around my damn knee. Very frustrating but I actually had a good workout and got a great pump.

Hack squats 1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps, 5pps, 6pps/12 reps bit of rest pause on the last set to make 12.

Leg press 5pps, 7pps, 9pps, 11pps/12 reps each set

Straight leg deads bar, 60k, 100k, 140k/8 reps each

Calf raises 4 sets of 15-20

Then 4 sets of pushdowns cos ummmm I want bigger triceps.

With my knee being how it is now I have to make every movement very deliberate and find a line that doesn't hurt, or hurts less than normal. It's an exercise in patience but I am actually really happy with how my legs are coming up so that is keeping me positive.

Thanks bro, it's hard for me to do a lot of intensity adding techniques just because my knee isn't stable enough so I just do straight sets and try and make things happen that way. I am happy how they are improving development wise though so whatever I am doing is working.

Bit of shoulders and biceps...

Seated db press 15k, 30k, 40k/12 reps each

50k/11

Hammer strength press machine 1ppss, 2pps, 3pps/8 reps each

4pps/7, 4pps/6 (tried to slow these down today and slight pause in bottom position.)

Seated front press 40k, 60k, 80k/10 reps each

100k/7

Lateral raise machine 4 sets of 12-15

Hammer strength preacher curls for 4 sets then 2 sets of standing db curls

Delts got a great pump and biceps too. Just kept a nice quickish pace and got through my workout.. oh and I did a few presses just cos I felt like doing them and didn't do rear delt for the same reason.

Friday did back.. short breaks just trying to get as much blood in as possible in as little time as possible.

Straight arm pulldowns 5 sets of 12-15

V grip pulldowns 5 sets pyramiding up then one back off set.

BB rows 40k, 60k, 80k, 100k, 120k, 140k/6-10 reps each, 80k/13 (tried to hold the contraction here as best as I could)

My back was fried so I did some biceps, just light curls on the preacher bench 4 or 5 sets.

Did a pretty basic workout sunday, trained wth a young keen guy who wanted to test himself a little bit so we did some heavyish deads and bench.

Deads 60k, 100k, 140k, 180k, 220k/ 3 reps each

260k/ 1, 220k/ 5 (nothing too exciting here but well he fell off at about 180k so my job was done.)

Bench 60k, 80k, 100k, 120k, 140k, 160k/ 3 reps each

180k/ 1, 200k/ 1

160k/6 drop to 120k/7 drop to 80k/11

Did 3 sets of cable crossovers to finish seeing as how sunday is normally my chest day 12 to 15 reps.

Suprisingly it's monday morning and my chest is so sore so something workeed..

Videod some deadlifting just cos someone was there to do it. Couldn't do the bench cos I needed my video guy as a spotter or I might have died.

you make it look to easy, espcially after a Back workout 2 days earlier :shock:

Now I have to try 260kg one day, but please don't go any higher, stay safe

Well I thought about going a bit heavier but have legs this evening se decided to be safe lol...

Hams and calves last night..

Did calf raises on the hack squat and on the seated calf machine... 5 sets each of 12-15 reps

SLDLs 40k, 60k, 100k, 140k, 180k/ 8 reps each

200k/4, 100k/8

Lying leg curls for 4 sets of 12-15

I was going to do quads but I got a bit carried away with hammies and calves and when I tried squatting a plate I just wasn't feeling it so I called it quits.

Today my hams and calves are fried now I just have to work out when I will squat.
