At your age you'll be grainy as hell and striated like crazy. Muscle is like fine wine, it gets better with age

I am already a bit scary looking, it's been an interesting journey so far in terms of seeing how my physique looks compared to how it used to look. I just didn't feel like I was ready to do what I wanted to do, but I got my fat self in shape now I can turn it into something respectable. Plus you've seen Vic I want a package that I can stand next to that with and hold my own!

Ummm I have been of two minds about things for a little while but yes you're safe Android. I am dieting hard and training hard and I will do something. Just not sure what!

Likewise the idea of standing next to you onstage has pushed me harder as well! I do wish I was competing but well I ain't in it to come second lol and I got to provide for the family. It will happen!

5 oct

Another busy frickin week at work so I had to sneak out to get shoulders and biceps done this morning. Everything done in about 45 minutes. Oh and I had the joy of training with an old mate of mine who is a slim 140k at 6'3... yep just the kind of hammering I need on low carbs and in a rush.

Hammer strength shoulder press

1pps, 1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps, 3pps/ 10-12 reps each set.

Bent db laterals 3 sets of 12 reps

Rear delt machine 2 sets of 15 reps

Laterals in the nautilus machine 4 sets of 12-15 reps

Hammer strength preacher curls

2 sets with one arm at a time followed by 2 sets with both arms. 10-12 reps holding contractions.

Standing db curls 3 sets of 12-15 (light but nice and slow, biceps on fire from fast pace)

5 sets of tricep pushdowns just cos I had a spare 5 mins.

Rushed out of the gym and now back at my desk wondering why it is exactly I bother working... oh that's right.. so I can afford my protein powder and nappies for my kids..

Lol Vic's offseason condition is better than most people's onstage shape which is rare on a 100+ kilo guy! Just long term discipline and good genes for condition. I got a few veins here and there lol

Oh did a really quick leg workout today during my lunch break.

3 sets of 20-25 reps leg extensions.

Hack squats 1pps, 3pps, 5pps, 6pps/ 10-12 reps each set

Squats 1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps/ 8-12 reps

Lying leg curls 4 sets of 12-15

Straight leg deads just 2 sets with 20k then 30k for 12-15 just to stretch my hams out.

Done and dusted in 40 minutes, trained with a dude from work who lost his lunch. Useless lol

Right well first off let me say the boys from NZBB looked awesome over the weekend, from the pics I have seen and from feedback I am stoked I couldn't come back to compete lol... 3 hours is a long flight to get your ass kicked back to aus! lol

Reassessed what I need to do to feel like I could be competitive... so going to stay in the condition I am in now and grow just a few more muscles then bring it down for the Australasias and the Melb amateur show. Bring my carbs up to 100 to 150 so I can train a little heavier again and see how I go. Time to get some strength back and grow some more muscles. I feel like this is a perfect platform for actually starting to do something. Having such a long time off from getting in any kind of shape even though I am lean and feeling pretty good I just don't feel like my skin is thin enough nor are my muscles pushing against it like I feel they should. The longer I can stay in this condition the harder and grainier I will get so that's the goal. No more bulking to 120 for me..... maybe?

Right over the weekend did back and bit of chest... and this morning did legs. I will start tracking my attempts to lift some decent stuff again.

Do some stretching every night, bro. Skin will get thinner AND muscles will grow. Nothing you didn't already know but it solves both of those. It's just getting the motivation, eh sweetums?

I am a teeny tiny 103 or something like that, maybe 3-5k off. But I want to be 105ish onstage and hard as nails! It'll happen.

I am kind of winging it back into some heavy stuff for a little while. Still going to crank the reps here and there where I can but I will make a concerted effort to lift a bit heavier where I can. My carbs are up a bit to around 100/day and actually trying to eat more protein.

Did legs on monday 10 Oct oh and biceps

Leg extensions 3 sets 20-25 reps

Hammer strength squats

did a super set of close foot stance followed by wide

1pps/12 reps each

2pps/12 reps each

3pps/12 reps each

4pps/12 reps then 10 reps wide

1 leg leg press

1pps/12

2pps/12

3pps/10

4pps/10

Squats

1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps/ 6 reps each, just trying for decent depth.

Leg extensions 3 sets of 15-20

then 2 sets one leg at a time 12-15

Lying leg curls 4 sets of 12-15

Done and dusted! Not bad and felt very stable under 4pl on squats. I know I punked out just doing 6 reps but in my defence I am a masters guy (almost) lol

For biceps I did 4 sets of cable curls 10-12 reps

3 sets of one arm hammer preacher curls 10-12 reps

and 3 sets of standing db curls 10-12 reps

Tues 11 Oct chest at lunchtime....

Hammer incline chest press 1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps/10-12 reps each

Flat bench 3 sets 2pps for 12-15

Incline bb

60k, 80k, 100k, 120k/ 8-10 reps each

Cable crossovers 4 sets 12-15

So weak on pressing today, bit disgusted really at how heavy everything felt.

Did shoulders this morning with a couple of my mates... 11 Oct and a tiny bit of arms....

Seated db presses

10k, 20k, 30k, 40k/ 15 reps each

50k/ 10 reps

Upright rows 4 sets up to 60k 8-12 reps

Hammer strength shoulder press

2pps, 3pps, 4pps/ 10 reps each

Super set pushdowns with bb curls 3 set 12-15 reps each

superset machine dips with machine curls 3 sets 10-12 reps each

Crazy pump, still training as fast I can. Much to everyone I train with's annoyance!
