With 4 plates I will sit in the bottom position but can't do that with 5 at the moment. And at 5 plates I put loose wraps on and have a belt on. Actually today I put the belt on at 4 plates.

Are you training for a specific comp Harry? Hows the diet going?

Yeah dieting for the wgtn show and possibly nationals and nationals over here in aus as well. Just playing it by ear and checking finances. Want to do wgtn cos it's my home town but might skip nationals and just do nationals over here. Dieting is going great at the moment. Just in a kind of gradual holding pattern then bring it down a bit closer.

Thanks re the squats, I have a few niggles here and there so I try and add intensity techniques to keep on growing cos I can't just keep on smashing it every week like I would like to!

16 July did an odds and ends workout

Deadlifts

60k, 100k, 140k/ 10

180k/ 8

220k/ 6

240k/ 3

Hanging leg raises 4 sets

Seated military press

40k, 60k, 80k, 100k/ 10 reps each did slow negatives and constant tension

Standing military press

4 sets of 60k/ 6 fast reps, just thinking about exploding the bar from the bottom position.

Cable crunches 4 sets

Seated lateral raises super set with seated front raises with 10k/ 12-15 reps each only 2 sets

20 mins on treadmill. Just an odds and ends workout, wanted to do some heavy deads and some free weight shoulder presses. Doing a bit more ab work at the moment than my usual none cos I am finding my lower back getting very tight so I am trying to balance out my core strength. Seems to working as my low back is easing up.

Also just hitting the gym a lot more than my normal 4 workouts a week just because I can at the moment.

Just did arms

Seated DBS curls 5 sets up to 30k/ 8 reps and back off with 20k for 12

Concentration curls 3 sets of 12-15 with 15k

One arm preacher curls on hammer strength machine 4 sets of 8-10

High cable curls 3 sets one arm at a time 10-12 reps holding the contracted position for a 1 count.

Tricep pushdowns 4 sets 20

Over head single arm extensions 4 sets with 15k for 12-15 reps

Reverse grip pushdowns 4 sets of 12-15 reps

20 mins cardio.

Hit it hard and fast today, don't normally do just arms but I was bored at home and though I would get a workout in.

Harry my man! you gonna do a powerlifting comp also? you dieting right? and your weights are still impressive as! should do one during a heavy bulk.... that would be good money!

I would like to do one actually, be good to do one at a lighter bw if I am still shifting some decent weight. Maybe drop under 105 then my numbers would look better lol

Oh and yeah I am dieting, pretty hard actually. My TP is pure bodybuilding style trainer and so I go to the gym on the days off and try and do some strength type work. Plus he doesn't train legs with me so I still squat ok.

19 july 5am back training!

5 sets straight arm pulldowns 10-15 reps

db rows, supporting hand on knee not on bench. Been trying these out and really like how they feel in my lats, not as much stability so you have to focus a little more but a great contraction.

Did 5 sets of 12 reps up to 55k then did a set of 8 with 65k

front pulldowns 5 sets of 10-12 last set a drop set.

One arm underhand hammer strength high rows for 4 sets of 8-12, heaviest set with 3pps.

4 sets of rear delts on reverse pec dec thingy ma jig

Low pulley rows 3 sets of 12 just trying to finish off with a decent pump.

Nice workout, lots of sets and fast pace.

Weighed myself this morning..... ummmmm wasn't going to post it cos it's ridiculous for this stage of my dieting but figured it would kjeep me honest... a touch under 117. I really need to take some pics.

Hey Drizzt.

I was expecting to be around 110 perhaps a little less... I mean condition wise I am happy because as far as I can tell I am where I want to be this far out. I am looking at the nationals as my main target so I have plenty of time for that but I was thinking my weight would be less for this type of conditioning. At any rate I think maybe it's because I am just doing everything on point at the moment? I was thinking to be onstage around a 100 possibly a little less because I haven't competed in so long but I think I might wind up being a little more...

Not much time to train this morning so just did delts. Trained on my own again.

Standing laterals 5 sets of 10-12 up to 27.5k

Seated laterals 2 sets to failure with 12.5k, explosive up but slow negative

Hammer shoulder press machine

1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps/ 12 reps each

4.5pps/ 7 reps

Seated military press

40k, 60k, 80k/ 10 reps each

100k/ 8, 100k/ 10... got shitty that I only got 8 the first set so pushed my lazy ass a bit harder to make 10. No spotter so a shit to get off the rack to get started.

That was it for this morning, very quick. Teach me for getting up late.

1pps, 2pps, 3pps/ 10

4pps/9

4pps/7 Lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame

Hammer strength squat machine superset with hack squats

1pps on both for 10, 2pps on both for 10, 3pps on both for 10 and 4pps on both for 8

I wasn't feeling the best this morning... no idea why and no excuses so who cares why! I just didn't perform how I wanted. Definitely need to rectify this!!!!

25th July

Did back and chest on the weekend.

Nothing really of note, just a lot of med high rep stuff and more intensity based than weight based. Lots of angles for back and lots of sets and reps.

Yeppers pretty boring training.

I am now down to 116 so that's good. U90s here I come.

Training when coming down just isn't as fun as when you're going up

Stopping blogging cos its just more of the same.

What's your conditioning like at this stage big guy? It's starting to look like your gonna struggle to get under 100 that's for sure

To be honest SG my training is going good and I am enjoying it I am just so frickin busy with my work and stuff that I haven't got the time or inclination but I will start to log properly when everything settles down. There's quite a few things I do differently form wise that someone bored might find interesting lol

Yeah no way I will make u100... I am going good with my prep but heavy as a mofo and biggest I have ever been I think in this kind of shape. It's throwing me off a little bit because it's not how I thought it would be but I am not complaining. I am actually fighting the urge to just hammer the cardio and drop all my carbs.... stupid mental games lol. I am pretty lucky my new TP is a great bodybuilder and very objective so actually handing over a little bit so I don't overthink it.

lol TWL... I have a kiwi mate who has agreed to train with me tomorrow at 5am so that will be fun. I am a morning person so I am going to enjoy him being half asleep through a shoulder and bicep workout!

I am once the plates start getting loaded he'll wake up pretty quick!

Oh yuck cant do mornings, few times i have promised to train legs the next day when out on the piss with a mate, i always wake up to his phone calls asking how far away i am lol......'sorry bro had to drop gf off' drop a banana down the chute and clamber into the car hahaha

I just have to make sure I eat enough the night before... enough to have some energy but not so much I am sick lol... but I am a morning guy and it's only shoulders. Legs is a whole different story!

ah ok, for some reason when i have a big meal before bed i always wake up STARVING, must be an insulin response or something? lol
