FAT is the adipose tissue that covers our musculoskeletal structure. If we took fat out of the equation then we could compare different body types associated with say fitness, bodybuilding, powerlifting, mma & strongman or essentially those people on this forum. We could then debate who has the most muscle mass according to height, weight & gender. Now that would be interesting :D Each athlete from these groups has a different perspective on the amount of bodyfat that they see as acceptable in their respective areas of training, presentation & competition. Eventually it gets down to an appearance thing. Obviously there is a huge health aspect but we are not looking at it from that perspective. Its about the "Look" The average male holds around 21% bf & females around 28%. Many of us on here are certainly not happy to be average in any respect & find bf our main enemy . However, we are a pretty diverse bunch with different goals but generally most of use, I suspect, would like to be able to see a bit more definition in their body composition & a little less fat.

Most of us have witnessed people that crossover between our sports & who excel in terms of appearance. Of course us BBers are more pedantic about what we look like & BF% has a big role in our preparation. So from my point of view, I would be more impressed by those that have worked hard to keep their condition looking good whereas a 130kg strongman would not necessarily give a fck :pfft:

Lying about my weights? Haha I've posted my vids?

Rookie, I got owned on stage? Haha okay buddy

TAt what point did I say that rookie was too fat for his goal? All I asked was a question, which I thought was black and white and next thing all you guys are on your periods about me trying to pidgeon hole people as fat or cut? Come on man!

And rook, me being stronger than a masters champ? You're the guy always saying about it depends on your goals etc, I train like a BBer, not a PLer, can't compare the exercise techniques kid. And you take the piss out of my size yet I'll still out lift you on anything and still beat you on stage soo...

I respect everybodies opinion on what they think is fat, I only asked a question

LOL PD, what you said is like calling a black guy the n word and saying you're joking :pfft:

The reason I went off coz 1) You're not a BBer (in my view its 80kg+ lean) 2) You haven't achieved anything great, and the way you said it, shit of course something like that is going to be taken offensively. You said I'm too fat to be able to see my muscle, how is that not an insult.

I have been training for less than a year, not 3 years like you. A 170kg bent row is like me putting 9plates on for the bar (if it even fits) and look like I'm having a seizure trying to do it.. just sayin

Just saying you could have worded the question better if you didn't want to offend me. As for an indicator of BF% how can you know you're 10% if you haven't even had it measured properly (skinfold from a proper anthropometrist or a bod pod/hydrostatic weighing)

Are you gonna say Andy Bolton is too fat to be able to see his muscle? I'm sure he's well over 20%

All I was trying to say was be careful with how you say something if you don't want it to be taken the wrong way

1) You're not a BBer (in my view its 80kg+ lean)

Sorry but that's just an ignorant blanket statement. Height is always a factor, and frankly 80kg+ lean is something probably out of PDs reach naturally. Shit I'm 80kg+ and lean, does that make me a better BBer than PD? f*ck no, I'm also 9 or 10 inches taller than him.

Agree it was a somewhat poorly worded and personal question, but it's all gotten a little out of hand :?

I know what you mean Phed, if Hide Yamagishi was 80+kgs on stage at 21yrs old (clean) and he's 5ft4, Japanese people are not built to gain much muscle.

All I was saying was the way he said it got me angry, if he didn't want me to get wound up should of said it way diff. Don't intend on taking it further, leave it as it is... The gym.recovery gets you big, not talking- think I gotta go do that first thing tomorrow morning

Couldnt agree more! Imo that is more of a fukwit statement than PD saying your fat at 20%. 20% is fat! (just because being 20% works into your training doesnt miraculously stop you from being fat). Im not saying 20% puts you in the same catagory as half of the morbidly obese people in south Auckland for example but it doesnt make you lean and mean either! Its how PD worded it thats the problem and Im sure in hindsight he would admit that, all your doing now is trying to offend him because he offended you and I can understand that. But by dong that your now offending many people on this sight who if they set foot on stage would not be in the over 80kg classes.

So your telling me that Daniel Hibbs is not a bber because he is 69kg or what whatever he is?? Im sure thats news to him. And I guess Im not a bber because I aim to be onstage at 79kg this yr? There are plenty of very very good bbers under 80kg and often the under 80 and under 70kg classes are the most competitive at shows.

He might technically be a bodybuilder but hes still 30kgs from being a real bodybuilder.

99kg for a bber who is 5 foot fuk all and comes in in the condition he does is hugely unrealistic. Without a lot of really good vitamins anyway.

OMG what a shitstorm. Dwarf tossing and everything.

Pretty harsh on PD, dudes short but fkn tank and in good condition for his height. If the numbers in his log are legit then hes doing well and earned the label bodybuilder AND power lifter.

"i reckon JOSEEF RACKISH would look better at 20% bodyfat.... just sayn"
