TFB goes Oly style

Well done TFB on your PB's and your first Nats. It is a little bit different to a prov comp that's for sure! Good analysis of what you could have changed for next time. Nutro is so important coming up to a comp...I too learned that at North Islands this year  Raw nats in Tauranga? Awesome goal!

Great meeting you too, and solid lifting. Thought your third deadlift looked fine, bit of a struggle but not too much of a grind. End of a long day can always make things seem harder than they were though.

Cheers Phedder... I think it's a wise man who admits he can improve.... goodness knows I need to improve!

As part of that plan, I managed to drop a few bucks in the University Book Shop today before I left town... would have liked to clean out the whole PhysEd textbook section but settled on 'The Complete Guide to Food for Sports Performance' by Burke and Cox - plenty to work on before the Raw Nats :)

Keep meaning to pop in and say NIIIIIIICE WORK! :rockout:

Why thank you ma'am....

I've moved my journal over here - going to be looking hard at doing the Raw Nationals first weekend of November in Tauranga, all I need to do is lift my squat, and my bench, and my deadlift.

Sounds easy when you say it fast, eh!

  • 3 months later...
Yah I realized after saying it that the cfak one is just one row, then 3 rounds of the rest  are you doing the onramp?
Yep....

Monday was 1RFT..... I think. I rocked thru the row in a comfortable 1m59 but was keepin an eye on the knees with the Bledisbro this weekend...

Wednesday 21 November.

Today's WoD: 3RFT: 200m run :( 5 knees-to-elbows, 10 wall-balls...

It's official: I am a SLUG :D

It's also official: I can ONLY GET FASTER

Friday 23 November

Today, I met a girl called Fran for the first time - I don't think we're going to hit it off.....

[even scaled, I was working hard... but I can only get better]

Tomorrow, honest clean powerlifting fun at the Bledisbro, and helping out at the Recordbreakers on Sunday

Good luck TFB.

Hope to be there supporting.

Cheers G, nice to see you there - and to hear the recovery's continuing.

Saturday 24 November:

Saturday's Bledisbro report can be found here

The CrossFit did help, they taught the Burgener Warm-up on Friday night so I put it to good use barely 24 hours later, and I'm sure it helped (or at least offset the fatigue from Fran!).

Woo bludi hoooo TFB takes on CrossFit and @ MaD too, they are the bomb coaches, you are in great hands. If you ever make it up Whangarei ways you always welcome to train with us FarNorth CrossFit.

Yep, they are da bomb... I reckon a summer of CrossFit will do me a world of good and set me up for a good year's lifting.

And if I'm up that way, you can count on me visiting... :)

Wednesday 28 November

Last WoD of the OnRamp...

Chipper, 35 reps each of Jumping Pull-up, DB Push Press, Air Squat, Sit-up, and Wall Ball. 10m 03s.. could have broken 10m but was taking do-overs every time the ball missed the mall (and I am REALLY good at throwing a 10kg med-ball straight up in the air  )

General goofing around...

Seated CG Machine Row 10s at 70, 84, 98 kg

Bent-over Row 10s at 60, 80, 90 kg

BB Bench 10s at 60, 70, 80 kg

Seated DB Press 10s at 15s, 17s, 20s

DB 21s at 8s, 9s, 10s
