Hi there

A little about me, I'm 32 years old guy who's spent the best part of the last decade overweight.

As a teenager I was always a little on the skinny side, then I spent a little over five years as a soldier. PT keeps in good shape and helped me fill out a little but I was still a bit on the skinny side.

Once I got out, I basically did everything wrong in terms of diet and exercise and put on a heap of weight, topping out somewhere near the 100kg mark.

In more recent years I've taken control of my diet and started running, culminating in me completing my third half marathon at the end of last month.

Unfortunately during that run I tore my calf (soleus to be exact) and had to find alternate exercise to keep in shape which led me to weight training, which led me here.

Do I want to be huge like Mr Olympia? No, but I'd like to get myself well toned and defined.

I'm a huge UFC fan and have decided I'd like to get myself in the same shape as some of their lightweight fighters which means dropping about 9kg more and adding some upper body muscle mass.

I currently workout at home with a set of dumbbells which seems to be working so far, but I'm all for additional input and ideas.
