Awesome lifting tom for your first comp.

Squats:

Were tidy, just got out of line on the 220 hips came up a bit quick so you tilted forward, core was not able to hold you in the right position. Just more core work Hanging Leg Raise, Pull Down Abs, Russian Twists/DB Side Bends. Shoes may have contributed to not a real stable platform to shift that sort of weight.

Bench:

Opener was nice, 2nd was the pass out not where it should have been? 3rd rep reds maybe you racked it before the command, and it looked like there was some movement of your arse off the bench what did the refs say?

Jumps may have been a bit high 15kgs might have been a better option then after 175 depending on how it felt 182.5+?. Jumps that big have a effect on the total it can be done in the Squats and Deads but bench is a different evil. 2 Stalling points around 2-3 board and 4 board work form those points to drive through maybe chain work so load through the sticking points. Setup you did not look tight all the way through a bit of body movement going on but still a pretty good effort.

Deads:

Standard BB DL no pun intended  not loading the Bar before lift off you are trying to jerk it up, when you do that you will notice your hips come up first, this loads your back. The bar drifts forward makes it hard to lock out as you are quite rounded at the top of the thighs. You will pull 240 day in day out like that but once you get heavier things change. Would help changing your shoes DL bare feet to notice the difference, when you grab the bar load yourself up with 50 - 60kgs of tension sort of sit back get hamstrings tight, pull the bar slightly off the floor so to speak but not actually leaving the floor. On the start Drive through the heels think pull the bar in close and slam the hips through. Might take a while but you have the strength for a big DL just the technique.

Great effort might be a future in the Darkside but the lights are still pretty strong. Then you can eat stuff like this and contribute to our nutrition threads.

Cheers OB1! mint post and advice.

the bench: 2nd attempt i gripped the bar on once ring and the the opposite ring, i gripped the closer ring on the left side so was heaps uneven when i started to lower felt like one side weighed 180kg lol... silly mistake.

3rd attempt i started lowering before the call to start thats only reason i missed that one according to judges.

Cheers Tom,

Yeah some of those new eliekos have rings all over the Fkn place, worse for DL. Wondered what it was for the reds on the 3rd bench.

Cheers

Nice work for first time bro.

You don't have to retire, there are untested Feds over here in aussie. Just time your next holiday on the Goldy to coincidentally coincide with a PL comp over there.

If all else fails just be that guy with his name at the top of the record chart at your gym

Nice work big guy if you keep it up you will soon be pulling tin like The Rat Attack. Just compete again and if you get tested blame it on the tainted meat. Shame about the 180 bench looked good apart from timing I guess, which is a bitch.

James

thanks bro, but na dnt wanna get tested lol

come on cronulla! just been tab put $60 on cronulla to beat warriors by 7 or more... paying $3.00 so not a bad bet going by current form.

right time to go prepare my snacks for the game and put away all flatmates' belongings that are in the loungue so nothing gets vandalised/smashed when cronulla is loosing lol
