I think YouTube deletes the file after 7 days or something, but hey it doesn't really matter. I'm gonna be putting all videos on PutFile webpage anyhow.

You got me curious, so I went and looked it up. For the record:

Videos stay on YouTube until the members who uploaded them choose to take them down. Videos which violate the terms of use and have been flagged may be taken down by YouTube.

Well if some of hisa were gone after 7 days maybe they vilolated the rules!! :grin:

Anyway good work glad to hear the hard work paid off

Yeah thanks guys, the volume seems to be really low and intensity really high. Even though the volume is low, my joints are still feeling it. Post competition fatigue doesn't help either/nights in the town. Weight is coming up nicely, might be around 94 mark now.

My session seems to be on Fri. 14th, so hopefully I can squeeze in a couple of training sessions while I'm in there just to get a feeling of how everything is while adapting to the environment. By the looks of things at this stage, I might be competiting for Gold or Silver. But you never know who's moving up or down, fingers crossed though.

EDIT: Ash, if you want to come along to VV's and mine squat session on Monday 10th July, you're most welcome to. It's at Auck. Uni gym (~6-6-30pm, or can be arranged just shoot a PM).

Short and sweet, focusing on technique, speed and tightness of the lifts. Looks like strength is coming back on power versions of the lifts, not sure about full lifts though.

Good work man, its al on in your head.

Numbers are just numbers, if your feeling strong on these lifts, theres no reason to rip it up in the comp. The bodys capable of much more than what the mind tells it. Bodys willing, Mind is scared syndrome. Youve trained hard for this, its yours for the taking ! see ya on Monday.

Just a quick update on the trip thus far.

Team arrived yesterday, everything went well. Completed our first training session tonight, lifts look strong for everyone. The venue is fuckin' huge, afterall it is a venue designed for Olympic games. It seems like a Team from China is here too aka the guys from Training Hall pictures floating around the net so it is very exciting. Met Peter Yukio in person today.

The weather is excellent here thus far, not too hot, not too cold. My weight is currently at ~92 kg, been eating like a pig but the heat makes you lose a tonne. My back is still sore BUT during training it has been fine so far, probably just a nerve and not a soft tissue muscle. Nothing a rub of deep heat can't fix. Peter lifted a couple of hours ago and lost to a Chinese guy! It was a very good competition and he looked like he was dissappointed. There was a bet going around that if Peter got 200kg Clean/Jerk, his coach would give him the keys to a nice mustang, but sadly he only did 180, while missing 194 for his 2nd/3rd attempts, very easy cleans on both but missed the jerks. He snatched 150 something.

China has 1 lifter in my class but it doesn't really matter because ...well...it's China and they're very good. I have to battle 4 guys for Commonwealth Junior title and 3 guys for Junior Oceania title I believe, and one of them is an Aussie!! but I don't know what he's capable of right now. So hopefully it'll be a nice little battle tomorrow. They told us that it will be broadcasted on Tv 1 or some channel in NZ, so Jono or anyone else can you please tape it, and I'll cover the cost of the tape or whatever.

UPDATE: 2006 Commonwealth, Oceania & South Pacific Weightlifting Championships (Sn/Jr)

Weighed in at 91.28kg, lightest weigh-in weight for this year. Arrived in Samoa weighing ~93.5 kg.

Overall, this is the best weightlifting trip I've had so far. 31 countries from around the world coming to Samoa to compete so it did wonders for my weightlifting experience. Saw Vlad (Nicci (sp)) again. NPC Rugby team from NZ came to stay in our hotel, so we were having a few quiet ones with them. There was one draw back during the lifting, and that is, no air con in the warm-up room!!! Despite drinking a f_ckload of fluids, it still screwed me for Clean/Jerks.

Snatch attempts

- 113 (no) - Overpulled it, very strong, but nervous.

- 113 (yes)

- 118 (yes) - Had to sit in the catch position for 3 hours before stabilizing it, felt hard but very pleasing lift.

Clean/Jerk attempts

- 135 (no) - Nerves.

- 135 (yes)

- 140 (yes) - Hard, due to the heat/fatigue.

- Came 3rd in Junior Oceania, and I think 3rd in Oceania Senior....

PB's

Snatch - 118kg;

Competition total - 258kg;

Sinclair - 295.860

Well done to athletes and NZ team!!
