I use to go to the gym before but I stopped for 3 years... It was enough to put so much fat on my body ...

Now I'm back to the gym (Hard out) ..its been 6 months now .. I am trying to change fat into muscles ... I am succeding so far but SLOWLY

my hieght is about 176 cm & my weight is about 89 KGs ...

A friend of mine has been advising me to take Fat Burners ... what do u guys think?

Also I will be interested in any other hints that could help change fat into muscles ...

Thanks

Heya Super,

Muscle (pound for pound) takes up less space (volume) than fat. So if I had a pound of fat and a pound of muscle, the fat would look bigger, but they would weigh the same amount.

If you're building muscle, it's pretty unlikely that you're losing fat. You don't 'replace' muscle with fat or vice versa. I know quite a few ppl who've given up training 'cos they think they're getting "fatter". This is just a phase that the body goes through, where your muscle is growing, but still has that layer of fat (and a little excess water) on top of it. Perserverence (geez, did I spell that right??) pays off bigtime here, 'cos that fat will start to "melt" off and those muscles will get to see the light of day :D

Soooo...

Increased calories + heavy lifting = more muscle. This'll increase your metabolism and thus the amount of cals per day you're going to burn, which makes it easier to lose that bodyfat.

Lower calories (compared to that first equation) + heavy lifting + smart cardio training = lower body fat

You can't really gain muscle AND lose bodyfat... choose one :)

EDIT: I think fat burners are unnecessary IMO. The effects are pretty minimal (unless you're close to competition and need that extra boost). Concentrate first and foremost on your training and diet and have a cup of coffee (or caffeine tabs) if you need some extra stimulation. Heaps cheaper!!

Slowly is good. It's more likely to be permanent since you experience a rebound effect if you lose it too quickly. A lot of diets starve you - sure you'll drop weight fast, but as soon as you start eating again it'll come right back with a vengeance. Slowly and gently is by far the better course!

As for fat burners, I agree with lazyone. They can be really useful, but as a rule of thumb, I'd only use them if you're already at an average body fat level and are trying to get leaner still. If you're above average body fat, then although using them may still help, it just masks any other problems (poor diet, slow metabolism, etc) that should be corrected first. :)

Speaking of diet, what does your daily meal plan look like?

Hey guys,

thanx alot for the replies .. very helpful ...

well regarding me training; I am doing weights about 3-4 times a week & doing cardio session (20-50 minutes each) about 3-4 times a week as well & I am noticing a change in shape ... especially recently ...

Regarding food; I have eggs & protiens in the Morning ... Lunch would be seafood or Chicken sandwiches .... Dinner would be Chicken Salad or Tuna & Salad... between these meals I eat about 6-7 peices of fruit ... in General I stop eating Carbs after 6 pm ..
