The best bodybuilder-friendly restaurants..?

Hey Guys,

Where is the best place that you have eaten that caters for the serious bodybuilder?

I finally came out of the dungeon and got out with some friends on Wednesday night. :jail: We went to the most awesome bodybuilder-friendly restaurant I've seen.

It's a place called Wildfire, down in the viaduct. We plumped for the barbeque and they just keep bringing meat!!! I put a little bit of salad on my plate from the sides, then just grabbed as much beef and chicken as I could as they cycled round.

It was a really nice place with great service (although it does get a bit noisey in there!) and I left on a protein high!

I've been there bigbob & I totally agree. I sat there & ate just meat all night until I couldn't move. Nice as aye.

For restaurants I agree can't beat Wildfire.

For a meal on the run the kebab shop in takapuna mall is awesome. You get 2 big scoops of rice and a couple big scoops of chicken all for $7.50

I normaly let loose like a kid in a candy store when i go to restaurant

But my sister lives in the Viaduct so next time im up there im keen to try wildfire.

Whoa.. thanks for the heads-up on Wildfire. Whats their dessert menu like? :pfft: :pfft:

I've also heard good things about the Angus Steak House, corner of Albert & Swanson Streets in Aucks... haven't tried it yet though.

Well lazyone, the dessert trolley did look quite appealing, but I got distracted by some more beef coming past my nose...

Angus steak house, huh? I feel a weekend dinner out with my wife on the cards...

Been meaning to make it down to Wildfire for a wh ile now and never got around to it. How much should I budget to spend for a couple ? For meals on the go, I usually stop at one of the kebab places on Queen st, ( Lord of the Kebabs is my fav.), I get them to replace most of the salads and a large bit of the rice with more meat. You can get quite a decent High protein, low carb meal for like$8....

The kebab joints seem to be the best value for high protein...

I think the wildfire barbeque was $30/40 per person. Pretty expensive, but pace yourself and you can get good value!!!

friendly restaurants that i have found so far are

wildfire - Brazillian

Genges - mongolian

and kebab shop, twice the chicken

but in all honesty if you go to any restaurant and are sensible with the portion sizes , roast potatoe instead of chips, etc and extra meat sometimes. etc

good point on wildfire, protein hangover. give genges a go though it's essentially the same

1 1/2lb steak topped with two eggs with roast potatoes, sour cream and salad.

1 1/2lb = 680g.

That's a whopping 190g protein. (28g/100g)

Wow!!! I'm going down to Wellington in a couple of weeks, so will have to stop in to give it a go!!!
