Pseudonym
Welcome! (Or, more to the point - welcome back! )For what it's worth, I go to Club Physical Te Atatu. It's good, and the members are reasonably serious about lifting (it's certainly more than just fitness studio), but it's probably not ultra-hardcore if that's what you're after! We've also got members here to go to the WestWave and Momentum gyms, both in Henderson. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you.

Cammo
I'm a West Waver - pretty small gym but I got the swim & gym combo so I do lengths on some of my non-lifting days. It's got a real community feel to it - people of all ages, sizes & states of fitness. It's a real mixed bag. Everyone's friendly as hell too (you get the odd arrogant newb but they're normally short term lifters

The only redeeming factor was the manager Steve BruceI train at the Colisseum which is very much dedicated to weight training with a good range of free weights in excellent order. It is in the centre of Auckland right along from the Mt.Eden prison but has good parking and a good atmosphere.Thats the gym not the prison-the atmosphere there is lousy.Another lad from Birmingham has just emigrated and also trains there.Come and have a look you will be most welcome. Last time I was back in Birmingham it was a quid for a workout and the heaviest dumbells were 50lbs with a boxing ring in the middle of the gym but now I understand the gyms are top class. When are you coming out?
