In this case, the mods were attempting to prevent a good discussion from being sidetracked. (We don't appear to have been particularly successful! :P) But there's also been a few times that we've decided not to uphold complaints made about your posts.

Anyway if you think a mod edit is unfair, send me a PM with the details and I'll take a look.

Now... Getting back to the topic! I do most of my workouts 8-15 reps, but now and again I'll go 6-8, sometimes 4-6. I don't know whether the lower rep stuff helps growth (I do know it's harder on my joints) but I'll throw it in occasionally just to hedge my bets. :D

Good post. I think the variety is the key. We were having a discussion around lat pulldowns for example. Back is one of the more difficult bodyparts to train in my view. I have taken the approach of trying to work up to a couple of heavy sets of 5-6 reps when I tend to use as much weight as possible and not get too concerned with the form. And then backing off with some higher reps of say 8-12. Not particularly high reps for some. The goal on the way down is to focus more on form.

Interested in what others have to say.

high rep man myself. i like platzs attitude of squatting himself to death for the hell of it. i don't feel mentally satisfied by low reps. i might be talking shit here i've only had 2hrs sleep in the last 36hrs and feeling pretty spaced. yourself thomas?
