Auckland Champs - 31.03

Today was a lonnnggg day! Weighed in @ 61.9kg which I was quite happy with. I didn't quite get the results that I was after but I set 4 Auckland records and got a PB on my deadlift so really I can't complain! It was an awesome day and awesome environment to lift in. Such strong lifts all day. Unfortunately my shoulder started up again after bench but I managed to get through deadlifts (rubbed the s*#% out of it with deep heat). Placed 1st in 63kg weight class and 4th or 5th overall?? (Don't quote me on that though)

AWESOME lifting from our CBC team - but I'm sure you'll read their results in their journals.

Squat:

Opener - 92.5kg (didn't even get the start command due to how bent over I was) Guttered but it made me that much more determined to smash my 2nd lift!

2nd Attempt - 95kg (3 whites!)

3rd Attempt - 105kg (Strong lift but got 2 reds & a white, not too sure on how fair that was but that's what it is, I've gotta learn to stand up straight especially with North Island's coming up in 10 weeks)

Not too impressed with my squats since I went backwards since last comp - but I know that I'm good for 105kg+ just have to get myself standing up straight!

Bench:

Opener - 52.5kg (3 whites - strong lift)

2nd Attempt - 55kg (2 whites, 1 red - felt good but could feel the fluid in my shoulder moving around and became abit off putting)

3rd Attempt - 57.5kg (missed. I've done this in the gym for a touch and go so no excuses, I just didn't have it in me to push for it)

Bench was decent, got 55kg which I missed at the beginning of the month, still have to find a way to set up tight on that bench that they use.

Deadlift:

Opener - 132.5kg (3 whites)

2nd Attempt - 137.5kg (3 whites)

3rd Attempt - 142.5kg (2 whites & a red - stoked with my deadlift!!)

It was an awesome day, long but worth it! Pleased with my records and numbers and in a way pleased that I now know what I have to change with my set up etc. Big thank you to everyone for all the support and wise words - an especially big thank you to dad (Steak) for wrapping, and to Big John for running my cards! Now it's off to bed, sleep all day tomorrow :pfft: :pfft: and then it all starts again on Monday!

Thanks, yeah can't complain - the iron gods were good to me yesterday :lol: Yeah lots of icing/heat packs and I think I'll be investing in deep heat :grin:

awesome lifting Em! so did you get the usual warm reception CBC always gets when supporting NZ powerlifting events :roll: ?

That b&*%^ was itching to give me reds.. I could see it!! And yes they doubled checked everything, including undies!!!! :-s

Dad said he'd give me $20 if I made her smile, b&%$& didn't even look at me when I shook her hand after lifting so I had no chance of making her smile!

Bodyweight: 61.2kg (2.5kg to loose)

Bench:

1 x 6 x bar

1 x 3 x 25kg

1 x 3 x 30kg

1 x 3 x 35kg

1 x 2 x 40kg

2 x 3 x 45kg

2 x 3 x 47.5kg

2 x 3 x 50kg

DB Flys: 5 x 8

Standing Overhead Press: 8 x 6 x 20kg

Tricep Pressdowns: 5 x 8 x 25kg

Abs: 5 x 10

Tried a new bench set up today - trying to find a way to keep tight! Took my grip out a little too. Shoulder's starting to feel a bit tender, think I'll be investing in lots and lots of deep heat!!

Better to get things sorted at the Regional's than to have it happen at the Norths (Squat set up). The non start you had, have been in for this year and part of last year, there was a certain amount of degrees they would tolerate but that has gone. Good thing you had CAT refs for this comp, you have to earn your whites, readies you for the Norths.
