"Not Ripped and Not Concerned!"

only a concerned person would name their journal this.

If you read the whole journal you will probably understand the reason for the title.

Looks like the training is going well Rookie. Good luck with the comp in May, I look forward to hearing how you go. Any targets or you just going to roll with it on the day?

Thanks mate, yeah am aiming for a 120 bench, 180-190 squat and a 220-230 deadlift. Have a few things to work on now, just building overall strength and bringing up weak points (lockout on the bench). If I can get more on my lifts that would be awesome, basically looking for a 500+ total.

How about yourself? Look forward to hearing about the benching at the NABBA/WFF comp in April.

Couple of big body parts in the same session. I would find it hard to do them justice.

When you're lifting as heavy as you are, of course. But for me its no walk in the park, once it stops working/plateaus I'll change it

Didn't mean to sound negative. Be interested to see how it goes. Keep me posted bro. :)

You should smoke that 500kg.

Feeling pretty good/strong at the moment, looking forward to the NABBA/WFF was pretty awesome last year. Have to share the platform with a couple of strong mofo's so will need to bring my A game.

I will do my best in training so it reflects on my total and hopefully show a marked improvement from the Eastside Open. Long term goal is to hit a 600+ raw total by the end of the year: 200+ squat, 140+ bench, and a 250-260 deadlift.

That's good to hear mate, I'm sure you'll smash huge numbers- your speed with 200+ kgs is insane  You mean Doc? Who else is doing it?

Today was quads, ate plenty and slept well... lats and chest are farken sore  \:D/

I know two huge body parts day after day may seem weird, but I make sure I am well recovered and went just as hard today as I did yesterday

Squats: Reverse pyramids:

125x6 PB, 115x8 PB, 105x10 PB, 100x12, 100x12

 These were insane, loving these atm- good balance between heavy weight and volume/reps, legs were full of blood. After last set was on the ground looking for my nut sack

Nautilus 45 degree leg press:

3PPS: 8sets of 10, 1set of 9 reps and a set of 8 reps PB in terms of volume and weight used for this amount of sets this was awesome, squats taxed the legs so went for more on these, legs were very very heavy and pumped.

Extensions: 70x20, 70x20, 70x15, 70x12- Just to finish the quads off went insane here and kept extending, lots of blood in the legs and very uncomfortable, was limping up the stairs while grabbing the hand rail

Tomorrow is a rest day. Back on Thurs with arms

they are some good goals rookie i was never able to get my dead up to 250kgs  hopefully later on this year

Cheers Luigi, not sure why my dead increased so fast- from 155-210 in around 3 months. So hoping to just keep working hard and work towards my goals. Since training is very important to me I make sure everything is consistent and I don't drink etc so those distractions are gone.

I'm sure you'll get there bro, just stick to it and you won't be disappointed. Hey maybe we might see a guest appearance from you at the Eastside open if you're in town

Not sure but my arms are quite long considering I'm 5ft6, and short legs.

True, box squats will get your deadlift up- indirectly, I didn't deadlift heavy 8-10 weeks leading up to last year's meet but my deadlift still increased.

Pretty sure the open is on the 8th of Dec? What class you reckon you be in?

A good friend of mine who trained like a bodybuilder deadlifted 190 his first ever time. At the end of 6 weeks he hit 230, 235 and 240  My dead has slowed at around 200 for so long its not even funny.

 That is freaky bro! True, what would ya put that down to? You strengthening your Pchain hard? Not blowing my own trumpet but I was told my DL technique isn't bad, big quad drive eh

He was just a freak. Wouldnt eat anything but 1 meal of tuna and rice and energy drinks all day then come in and do 200x5 on dead or 140x3 on bench, bw 95kg at 18  c*nt lol

I think my technique has let me down heaps in dead. When I use my quads the weight blasts up but I resort to more a stiff leg on the max weights. A strong Pchain and back should help me out need to catch up to you bro real talk 8)

Damn bro, some people eh :pfft: I couldnt do the energy drinks eh, mad crash and burns.

True yeah bro, I just keep it simple and don't over complicate things and always remember drive through legs and chest up.

Haha thanks bro but can't take credit since I'm a long long way away from where I want to be. Be mean to do a pchain session with you guys if you down in CHCH sometime

Tonka has been invited and also there might be a guy who has lifted in the Aussie double ply fed heading over. He is pressing around 250kg at under 80kg.

 Can't believe I am missing this!! Farken sounds like there will be some huge numbers being smashed on that platform! Its not Ange Galati by any chance is it? I heard he's an Aussie bench champ and under 80's, competes in BBing too
