Hey i found this on a overseas forum that was posted up by a fella that generally seemed to know what he was talking about. It was under a thread which had a newbie that was scared of needles asking if a Dbol only cycle would work for him or whether it was a waste of time (a topic that is very heavily discussed). The outcome i have found in most of these discussions is that Yes it is a waste of time Big one minute Small the next.

Anyway this was his post

all these people quoting "facts", but I have yet to actually see one

"fact", the more anabolic a drug is, the more it will help you to build actual muscle tissue, not water retention, but actual growth.

"fact", dbol is one of the most anabolic drugs out there, mg per mg, it may just be the most anabolic, definitely going by my own experience.

so combine those 2 "facts", and dbol is superior in many ways, to many other anabolic steroids. So why does the old wive's tale about dbol only cycles still persist, that you cant gain and maintain real mass with it....Off hand I can see a few reasons....One, due to another wives tale about how hard it is on the liver, dbol cycles tend to be short, in the order of around 4 weeks, while test and other injectables cycles tend to be in the 8-12 week range. So no brainer, you will gain and keep more off one of the other cycles. Not to mention, add the the mg per week in a test cycle, and compare it to the mgs per week in a dbol cycle, the dbol user is using much less.

Also add in the fact that many that run dbol only cycles due so because they dont want to inject, which tends to have the users who are much less serious about bodybuilding taking this route...those more serious about getting huge, will get over their fear of poking. So this often being the case, the user knows less about training and nutrition, so they dont gain as much pure mass from the cycle as the experienced or serious user. Most of what they gain tends to be water, which of course is pissed out when they stop they cycle, regardless of the pct you follow. Also, this less experienced user, often has difficulty telling the difference between the water gained, and the muscle mass, this is easy to do as much of that water is held within the muscle, its not bloat....I fell for this many times during my early cycles

But I can honestly attribute much of my overall mass to dbol, arnold called it the breakfast of champions for a reason, and I think he knew more about bodybuilding than your average person who has these opinions of dbol. Mg per mg, dbol is by far the best steroid I have ever used...I have been cycling pretty extensively over the years, and as my avatar shows, I've done pretty well. And I am willing to bet I wouldnt be half this advanced without the drug

Dbol only cycles can be done successfully with lots of mass retained, you just need to keep a few things in mind

One thing that got me curious was the bit that i have put as Bold lettering. Just because even if you take drugs out of the equation this is so true with people at the gym that train naturally, if they really concentrate on there diet for a couple of weeks you start to see changes in their body but then as most people do they go off track and stop changing. But if they can actually just keep going to the gym and stick to a diet (wat eva this may be) you can really see changes that stick.

Just wondering if this is where alot of the stigma with Dbol only cycles failing comes from ?

Is it just because the people that Jump on a Dbol only cycle were destined to fail anyhow because of their lack of Consistancy in Training / Diet?

from personal experience, dbol only cycles are helpful as a bridge between cycles. as far as using dbol as the main component in a cycle, i tend to feel test is the way to go. safer on the system. many peoples first cycles are dbol only, and yes many old timers used it. dbol is a great anti catabolic to run during a cruise at a low dose morning only.

it would be hard on the organs for sure but i still like the idea of just taking an oral to help me train harder and get the most out of it.as much as everyone recommends the test e first cycle :/

The big tests are not for you, you'll bulk up too much, which will inhibit your movement & bang you up into another fighting weight....

Lol yeah daz im still not sold that normal test is the only option for a first user.

yeah anavar has always looked good, i think dbol is attractive as well, just because of its availability

Daz what are your thoughts on oral t-bol? any experience with it? They say effects are somewhere between dbol and var. something like lean mass without the water retention and estro issues associated with dbol.

But from what I've read on it, I'd probably go for Anavar...

Anavar is which is one of the first orals I ever took.... Good for contact sports, with great increases in strength & agression...

Just came across this.............

Tip 2 - Don't do a DBOL ONLY cycle! EVER!

There are plenty of good reasons for this - Obviously in that Dianabol is a 17-alpha alkylated steroid, warranting short-term use. Since Dianabol has little Androgen receptor activity, it functions particularly synergistic with compounds that have a strong Androgen receptor activity as is the case for all the aforementioned. In other words - stack it! Forgetting about the science here - do you want to make muscle, strength and water gains and end up feeling pumped and huge by the end of your cycle only to realize that the dianabol mainly gained you water and a few weeks after the cycle you lose it all?

Dianabol is a methylated compound with a certain toxicity, so in the interest of safety you wouldn't use it longer than 6 weeks on end, 8 weeks at the absolute maximum and only under supervision of a medical professional who can monitor your liver values. Arnold was said to use it for eight weeks at a time (of course this is only speculation), but even if this was the case, Arnold was on a whole other level than most beginners. Don't copy what he did and expect the same results - his workouts, nutrition program and steroid stacks were designed for his body and his genetics - never copy him or anybody else for that matter. Dianabol heavily aromatizes so its not particularly useful during cutting and with 6-8 weeks of use maximum, that leaves the option open - Stack it with another, injectable, compound that can be used for longer terms (beginning of stack when other compound is least active).

Dianabol is mainly meant to kick start your cycle gains. This is normally done by stacking it with a longer acting product, such as testosterone enanthate or cypionate, deca or equipose. For best use, include it early in a stack (see sample stack #2 listed below). You would run it with your 500mg of sustanon weekly as follows:

Weeks 1-4: Dianabol - 20-25 mg daily.

This should be more than sufficient for a beginner and just fine to kickstart your mass gains. Sometimes less is more! When it comes to 17-alpha alkylated drugs, this is one of those times. Liver health is something that you should be very important to you.

When stacking with a longer-acting product, such as testosterone enanthate or cypionate, Deca or Equipoise, the best use is early on in the stack. Dianabol is a very fast-acting steroid and most injectables don't start showing their real value for 2-3 weeks. That makes it particularly useful to kick off a cycle with.
